It implies that the bible is not 100% literally accurate, and I, as a Christian, can't deal with that without my whole belief structure unraveling. This would create an existential crisis and force me to re-evaluate my life in terms of how it impacts other people instead of what kind of reward I will get in the afterlife, and I'm just not willing to do that. Besides, thinking makes my head hurt.
So I say that evolution is a lie put forth by Satan.

I discount it for several reasons:
1) If evolution started with a 'big bang' I want to know who or what started the big bang. How ?
I will never accept that 'it just happened".
Evolution always starts with a something form out there somewhere and dare not or will not venture to ask where that something or matter came from in the first place .
2) Evolution always uses huge , mind-boggling numbers like
18.3 billion years ago, 100 million years ago, this and that was formed.
Why do evolutionists put their faith in such huge numbers and believe it is true and accurate ?
Who is to prove that it is true ?
It is nonsense to me .
Prove me wrong .
3) What makes the evolutionist think that carbon-dating of matter is an exact and accurate Science ?
I've read some Scientific journals that say carbon dating yielded nonsensical results when they did some tests on rocks.
4) How come I do not see any half monkey, half man or 1/4 monkey and 3/4 man or any other combination , for that matter?
Where are the evolving hippo-zebras or lion-mokeys ?
Why is every species of animal distinct from the others ?
If they evolved, tell me why only these distinct species survived ?
Find me proof that they evolved by showing me the "in-betweens"
Why are humans so distinct from the apes but only two distinct species survived: the apes and the humans ?
Don't tell me about 'Big foot' stuff coz that was proven to be a hoax.
Anyway, even if it's true, it's only ONE ! One bird does not make a summer.
5) How did non-living matter take on life by itself ?
The first simple cell came from non-living matter cooling off over millions billions of years, right ?
6) How did simple cells become more and more complex by itself ?
The laws of Physics tells me that when things are left alone, they break down and become simpler.
They become more chaotic and not the other way round, that evolutionists believe.
7) How did simple cells take on sex by themselves ? : male and female ?
8) I am not convinced by Charles Darwin that just because there are some similarities in some species of animals, they must necessarily evolve one from the other.
Micro-evolution or adaptation is true but not macro, like dinosaurs turning eventually into apes and then human beings.
Just because the table looks like the chair with similarities like four legs and a top, does not mean the table evolved from the chair or vice-versa.
You and I know that a carpenter designed both for specific purposes.
9) If evolution is true, how would evolutionists extrapolate the future human beings 10 million years from now ?
10 billion years from now ?
10) Why didn't life evolve in other planets of the solar system ? Don't tell me about the temperature not being suitable.
Evolutionists believe anything can adapt and change to suit the climate eventually, given billions or trillions of years !
11) What about life on other galaxies ?
You may tell me "Yes ! There must surely be life on other galaxies. There are millions of other galaxies. There must be UFOs and aliens out there ".
So far, was there any conclusive proof or concrete evidence ?
12) The chance of the "primival soup" being suitable to have life evolving or started is 1 out of several millions or even billions.
Still evolutionists will swear that it did really happen by chance.
There are more questions, I'll leave it to others to ask .

Well, there you go. Most of the people here who discount evolution do it because they don't understand it - they have been told it's 'only a theory', that there is no proof, that macroevolution can't possibly happen, and they constantly confuse biological evolution with cosmological evolution and abiogenesis (the origin of life, which is not related to evolution). Maybe if they really understood what evolution says, what it means, and why were are very sure it happened, they would accept it.
Edit: from oldguy - 'every child is taught it as the gospel truth even though it has no solid evidence'. Sounds like you're talking about something else to me.

Evolution is not an explanation for the origins of life.
Science can theorize that we evolved from a single-celled organism, but that's a pretty vague theory. How the single-cell came into being is constantly debated in science.

I don't. I'm a Christian who believes in theistic evolution. There are a few of us. If you don't know what that is and don't care to read about it.... Very simply put (major watered down) it is the belief that God did in fact create all lifeforms but did so in a logical, multistep process. The process we call evolution.

Pineal glands and senses is the fast answer.
You must have experience to think of or create something. How could you evolve any of the five senses?
Pineal gland activty dispelling DMT within the brain is most active in the first 50 days of a fetus, when you dream and upon death it drains in the brain. More study on DMT and pineal gland activity holds a strong fight against evolution.

I discount it because it's a THEORY that man derived from a nothing, then a cell, then a fish, then a monkey, and so forth. Doesn't make sense. And if that was how MAN came to be, how did giraffes and rhinos and snakes and platypusses and sloths and whales and birds and bugs all come to be? All from the same old cell that developed and developed and developed? Sorry, can't buy that.

Because it's still a unproven theory, I'm having a two for one sale on evolution kits this week, big discount, easy to use, complete instructions. All you have to do is apply a primordial solution, some basic logic, and wait awhile, just go to www.evolveintoasmartask.com.

DNA is essential for life to exist yet DNA can only be produced by life. How, when no life existed, did DNA come into existence?
My biggest hurdle has always been the human brain. It consists of 120 million cells and 130 trillion chemical/electronic connections, I could NEVER believe this evolved from a single celled algae by sheer chance and coincidence. Peace :-)

Being a Christian doesn't mean we don't look for facts.
Evolution has only made it as far as theory and has no proof.
I have faith in the living God. I don't have faith in evolution.
Everything that happens within nature was planned by the Creator of the Universe. Sometimes, that's hard for us to wrap our human minds around...
