Ok, I've looked through alot of the other questions, without too much luck. I'm switching to waxing, becuase I hate shaving. It's tedious, has very short term results, and is expensive (razors are really pricey here).

So my questions are:
1) How long do you have to let hair grow out before you can wax?
2) What are the best waxing products under $30?
3) Is it worth it to have it done at a salon vs. at home?
4) What are the best products to use after waxing to prevent irritation/inflammation/ingrown hairs/ white heads?

Thanks,
AriJo

Other info: I've tried nair & other similar products, but have had *very* bad results. Either severe burning sensation (and did not remove hair), or it turns my skin yellow (and does not remove hair).

Coming from a Cosmetologist..

I've gone back to shaving.

1) Your leg hair has to be long enough for the wax to grasp it and pull it out.. so therefor you have to wait a while and let your leg hair grow out between waxes..

2) Waxing products under $30 aren't going to do you justice.

3) Getting it done in a salon ensures that the hair will actually get removed.. unlike doing it at home where you're sure you miss spots..

4) You'll always have irritation.. especially after you just start waxing.. it'll take quite a few times before you actually get the results you want. It will either make your skin tough OR if your skin stays sensitive then you'll get spots that look like you have a rash.. you'll get ingrown hairs.. and white heads..

Trust me.. though shaving is a PAIN stick with it.. then you don't have to go for so long letting your hair grow out.. and you don't have to worry about all of the gross/bad stuff it does to your skin.

Save up your money and get laser hair removal.

You will need between 1/4 and 1/2 inch of hair growth. The hair below the skins surface is at least that long and thicker than what you see on the outside and it acts as an anchor that you're pulling against.

Don't try to do this yourself, go to a professional. You will only need to go every 4 - 8 weeks.

In-Grow Gold is great for in-grown hairs. You will probably have some red bumps after your first waxing experience. They will usually go away in several minutes.

The problem with waxing, is that the results last about 4 days before hair grows back - and in that time you look like a plucked chicken, and then you have to grow it out for a few weeks.

Let me know if you find a miracle.
Go to a place where they sell professional supplies though, it will cost more in the beginning, but you can buy wax in larger amounts (which you will want to do, since I assume you want to do both full legs) and so in the longterm you save money
Good luck

Plucking (tweezing), Shaving, Depilatory creams and Waxing are temporary hair removal methods.
Waxing usually lasts for 3 weeks, but it is painful.

i love a guy with body hair. the in elementary words position i don't like that is on the decrease back, yet i am going to ignore that. i imagine furry adult males only look more advantageous virile and masculine. this theory that adult males favor to shave or wax to be toddler-gentle is a modern phenomenon, and one which i wish human beings get over quickly. that is so disappointing to ensure shirtless image of my widespread hunk in elementary words to have him be unnaturally gentle.
