"Can anyone provide examples of Christian, Muslim, Jewish or other religions speaking against drinking alcohol?"

Are questions removed when someone complains, even if there aren't any reasonable grounds??

You don't need to answer the deleted question. I got quite a few good answers before it was deleted.

Thanks to those that answered.

Yup. Welcome to Yahoo! Answers R&S. It's all handled by an automated process. When you get the violation notice, it'll say you can email to appeal, but don't bother, it goes to a bit-bucket (ie: it's thrown out and never actually read).

If someone doesn't like a question (or answer) they click the "report abuse" button. This "report" goes to a Yahoo Robot who sends an auto response to the abuser notifying them of a "Violation Report", they invite the abuser to appeal if they do not feel it is a violation (but they never respond to appeals); The abusee gets an email thanking them for participating in YA and for reporting abuse. They say they are investigating the report (they aren't.). The question (or answer) is automatically deleted. No human reads the reports. No one investigates. It's all an automatic process. Yahoo is suffering from serious growing pains.

I would not know why this question be removed. If that was your question I have the answer

Satan's plan is (but) to excite enmity and hatred between you, with intoxicants and gambling, and hinder you from the remembrance of Allah, and from prayer: will ye not then abstain?

But Qur’an also mentions that it has benefit in it:

They ask thee concerning wine and gambling. Say: "In them is great sin, and some profit, for men; but the sin is greater than the profit." They ask thee how much they are to spend; Say: "What is beyond your needs." Thus doth Allah Make clear to you His Signs: In order that ye may consider-

The Bible says all things are to be done in moderation not in excess...that would include alcohol consumption; but to answer your question, no I don't see why it wold be removed. I guess you just made the wrong person mad.
Go to yahoo's message board, they are addressing the issues of people being wrongfully reported and taking action. Hope this helps ;-)

Sometimes questions are removed without a Yahoo review. You can take your complaint to the Forum to see about having your points restored, but the question will be gone for ever until you ask it again. Yahoo is trying to determine a way to manage this, short of hiring about 100 new employees to monitor Yahoo Answers. This would take about, oh, about a million dollars per year, minimum

It looks like a reasonable question to me. I don't understand why it would be removed.
I haven't figured out the process Yahoo goes by to "enforce" their rules.
