Ego is the drive to preserve self, promote self, meet the needs of self. Ego, if unchecked, can, indeed, be your worst enemy. The phrase "ego trip" didn't come from nowhere. Man and his pride has been the downfall of great warriors, presidents, and even spiritual leaders. Feeling good about oneself and taking pride in oneself is not a bad thing. But Ego is a hungry beast. Never satiated, ego is always looking for things to feed on. Ego is the enemy of humility, honesty, and love. Ego has the potential to destroy love relationships, as it thinks only of itself and the need to feed. Ego is never wrong. Ego is confidence and self love gone awry. Too much of a good thing can definitely be bad -- epsecially with Ego!

i guess we as humans have many assumptions about our self and we perceive other as different ppl than wat they actually are.
Ego is residing within our selves. Hence its or best friend.while a person who is egoistic makes hasty decisions coz its the ego which is making the decision and not the person him self. hence its the most scariest enemy...and the enemies which we fear are nothing compared to it
