when i sleep everyone tells me that i don't snore, i just gasp for almost every breath and it seems like i have trouble breathing. i do have asthma but it's usually just when i do sports. i've tried breath right strips and they didn't help at all. i do yawn a lot through the day and i wonder if it's just that i have weak lungs. though one time i went to get my breath checked and the dr. told me that i have strong lungs but that was awhile over a year ago. i was just wondering if there was something that i could do to stop my "snoring" because it's always embarrassing it i fall asleep at sleepovers and people make fun of me because of how loud i sleep. i just don't want to fall asleep in class and get completely embarrassed at how weird my breathing sounds when i sleep. what do i do?

My dad had a problem similar to this and they told him that the cartilage in his nose is deteriorating. It is collapsing and cutting off his air supply through his nose. snores like a train, too.

Just something to consider having checked.

Go be allergy tested and see if you are allergic to dust mites. Their greatest concentration is in pillows and bedding. You could be getting asthmatic at night and clearing when you get up.
If you just want to test for that yourself, wash ALL your bedding(sheets, mattress pad, pillow, blanket, etc.) in hot water and bleach and see if you have a better night. Make sure your pillow is dry, or just get a new one. Humidity makes dust mites increase rapidly.
