Name something that happens to you when you get blessed except hearing the words "God bless you".

Is it a synonym for the word placebo?

Getting blessed is the opposite of getting unblessed.

"I bless you"
"Thanks, you're an idiot"
"I unbless you"

When you are blessed by God through a devout Christian, if you truly trust the Lord with all your heart, mind, and soul, you can feel His presence around you, it gives you a calm reassuring feeling that God is on your side helping you through whatever trouble comes. Usually the results of a blessing are not what you expected, perhaps you go through a hard point in your life, you wonder if God is really there to help you, but if you keep your faith God always pulls you through and you will grow spiritually and emotionally closer to him. It's an amazing experience that lasts a lifetime and beyond.

Its the opposite of being cursed. What happens when somebody insults or disrespects you or alternatively pays you a compliment?. At a physical level nothing - sticks and stones, so they say.

Even the placebo effect brings relief, its just not derived from an external agent, its still relief. We are more than our physical parts, why else do we ask or answer questions of complete strangers on YA? Knowing that somebody wishes you well and asks God to help you can indeed lift your spirits.

you don't hear the words God Bless You, you hear what God has to say to you. If you are ill God may heal you that way, or comfort you if you are troubled. Its a good thing.

It depends on the situation and context. If you are dealing with a pedophile priest it will mean something different, and possibly more painfull than if you are dealing with mother Theresa...
