Lol - I've often wondered this. The big question is why....if a senior citizen wants to dye their hair that delightful shade, more power to the senior cit - but they could come up with a funky shade at least

It sure is a universal thing! Just like the colours of a rainbow
red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet. The big question is "Why do they do it" especially the colour pink.

I'm not a stylist, but it's my guess the rinse they use in their hair is supposed to offset any yellowing of the gray. They maybe go overboard on the rinse, and thus the bluish tint.
