I just moved to a new neighborhood and when reading up about it on wikipedia i found out that a murder occurred here about 10 years ago. I looked up some more info and it turns out it was on my very street! How can I find out the exact address of where the murder occurred? I'm not a weirdo or anything, it just creeped me out realizing that it happened on this street and I wanted to learn more. The problem is I can't find any details besides the street name. Where can I look to find the exact address? Is there a way to search the police records online or something?

You may have to search police records by going to the appropriate police office and requesting copies of reports. Also, there is the local newspaper which may have archives available. It is always possible it happened next door or at your house.

Wikipedia isn't exactly the most reliable source, so try obtaining police reports from the timeframe. They are public record and will require more effort than scouring the web, but you'll get the information from the proper source.

Many libraries have old newspapers on microfilm. If you know a little more about the month or date it would make your search go faster. Sometimes you have to read alot of papers but if you do find it, it will have alot of info. Otherwise ask a neighbor, they might have info on it.

Couldn't you go to the local newspaper and search their archives? The paper probably has a website.
