Why don't you ask him? It's possible, he sees you as a maniuplator, but has some feelings for you, and that that's all
there is to it. There are other posiblities, but they're not necessarily the explanation. Don't dwell on this puzzle, just concentrate on making the friendship good, and then letting it progress.

well maybe he doesnt really mean the whole 'not taking no for an answer' thing, he might have just been kidding about it
either that or he just really really likes you but thinks that that is a bad thing about you, but that your totally worth being with even w/ that
