Ferritin is the form in which iron is stored in the body. It is not found in food.It is formed in the body from iron absorbed from food. Iron is absorbed from food in the ferrous form. Food sources of iron are meat, offal, organ meat like liver and kidney, egg yolk. Vegetable sources include green leafy vegetables, legumes, dates.
