Is life fair? It's a simple, almost childish question, but I think the way we answer it says something very profound about how we see the world. Some people say that life is obviously unfair because we are all born into a different lot in life, some more fortunate than others, and we are subjected to many forces outside of our control. But there's another train of thought that looks at the big picture, beyond your own life, and thinks that fortune and misfortune, survival and death all balance out, which enables life and nature to sustain itself. There are different ways to think about it. What do you think? From where you sit, is life fair?

Life is fair. We write our own destiny. The universal law of karma and reincarnation makes us all responsible for our own ill thought out causes which we put forth. We must reincarnate back into the physical world once again (over and over) to live out the effects of our actions (good and bad). It is the only sensible explanation (to me) as to why everyone is born into vastly different sets of circumstances. It is fair.

life is not fair. the wicked prosper and the righteous are always at the bottom of their pockets.

from personal experience, my family follows God as best we know, and numbers for the bills dont add up. we have more bills than income, but somehow, each month the bills are paid or my dad gets unexpected overtime, or my mom get retro pay for a new policy that went active a week ago. God said the righteous will be blessed. i feel blessed since we can still afford $300 in video games for x-mas. not top-of-the-line PS3 or something, but works well for us.

once the world ends and Jesus returns, the righteous will be taken to heaven and all unfairness will cease. perfection will abound forever. thats the bigger picture. we only have to deal with these few years of pain and misfortune.

Life is fair. It gives you what you give it. Society and people in general are not fair. We confuse life with the actions and ideals of others then blame life for what we can not control. Now, people may argue that illness or accident cause life to be unfair but in reality you cant blame living for the problems. Blaming the illness or the accident would be understandable.
Life is fair, circumstance is not.

Life is not fair. It seems like Life is out to get you. But you need to learn to live life the way it is, be yourself, and jump over all obstacles. Observe the world, take note of your surroundings, because if you don't stop to smell the roses, you'll miss the good things in life.

No life is not fair.
Yes it should be.
Yes it could be.
It isn't because Adam and Eve sinned.
It WILL be because God's original purpose for humans has not changed. He plans to make "life fair" in the future. Why He allowed it to get to this point in the first place is a looooong story. I just wanted to answer those quick, short questions of yours.

life is what you make it out to be, since i doubt the existence of god, i find comofrt in believing life is not just a test, pessimistic people attract bad things and optimistic people attract good things, its your perception of the situation/ reality/ life

there are many things in life that are not fair, but you accept it and try to find the good or those small things that make life better, because our time here in earth is limited, time doesn't stop or wait, there's so much to life, even with all the negative things, happiness is happiness because it is momentary, in other words, you need the bad to make the good even better

you need death to make life important

do i sound too idealistic or naive? sorrry

God never promised us that life would be easy. He just wants us to believe in Him, and serve Him where ever we are at. If we don't go through tough times, then we wouldn't need God. It's when we are in the valleys that we need Him the most. Life can be fare at times, but not always. We have to make the best of the circumstances that we are in.

Life is what we make of it, the Universe plays no favorites and no
one has special treatment. WE may get a real crappy start in life,
but nothing says we have to stay there but us

Life is fair. It's important not to confuse our society and culture as life, though.

Life is neither fair nor unfair. You are born, you die and what happens in between is life.
