Unless the dog was in heat, the ovaries and uterus are a relatively small set of organs. They can easily be removed from a small incision. Part of the reason they spay dogs is to remove the main source of estrogen in the body. If they left the ovaries in the body would still have estrogen, and therefore would still go through the same cycling without becoming fertile.

Why would you want to put her through all that? Surgery the first time, surgery the second, and then having babies on top of that? At any rate the surgery is not reversible. The incision being small is a good thing. A good vet will only make about a 1 1/2" incision.

No. This procedure is irreversible. Read here:

I have never heard of a vet only doing a tubal ligation on a dog. Did your vet tell you this or did you assume this was what was done?
The incision is very little because cat ovaries and uterus are also very little. They don't want to gut them to do the procedure when they can get to everything in a very small space. Less traumatic for the animal and easier healing. But the procedure is completely irreversible.

i've never heard of them just "cutting the tubes" normally when you take your dog to a vet to be spayed they do so many that they line them up and just start removing all of the parts. and then wake them all up together. its faster that way. you might want to double check to make sure that she was fully spayed correctly because that is what you payed for. and if the did just " cut her tubes" ( which is highley unlikely) no there is no reversal for dogs like there is humans.

Nope, all parts are removed. Unless you are in Great Britian where occasionally they just remove the ovaries, but even then... it is irreversible.
