You should warm up for about 10mins before you work out. You can stretch bfore your work out but you still need to warm up first as it is dangerous to stretch your muscles when they are still cold. If you are working out at the gym just jump on to one of the cardio machines before you start. If you are working out at home then try skipping or a mixture of things like jogging on the spot, starjumps or shadow boxing to warm the upper body also. The best time to stretch is during your work out. After a couple of sets, stretch the muscles you have just been working before moving on to the next exercise. Always remember to warm down too.

Light cardio and calisthenics. Don't stretch before working out, stretching before your muscles are warmed could cause you to pull them, stretch after your workout when the muscles are warm.

You should stretch your muscle first. Don't do alot of bouncing type stuff. You should stretch until you feel loose.
