well jimmy, the thing is that its not physically addicting but it can be mentally addicting. many people who smoke marijuana will tell you its not addicting but completely leave out the mental addiction part
you luckily didnt get addicted to it mentally probably because you have more in your life than that. thats not the case for others. they dont have much in life and get mentally addicted to it and then they wont stop because they dont wan to and it ruins their life
and its usually bad to do it ever because in order to obtain those drugs, people had to grow it, sell it and distribute it. and we all know from watching anything about drugs, it is a dangerous business. people make so much money selling that stuff that people will sometimes kill others just to get the stuff from them to sell themselves. this forms gangs and so on, and its not good for people to act like that. so physically, maybe it not such a bad drug, but morally, your supporting all those things that go on w/ people killing others to get a hold of it or robing others of it and all the crime that comes from it

I think teachers and other people say that so that people don't try it. Marijuana is very addictive and can ruin a person's life. You might just be the exception to the rule unless you keep lighting up.
I don't think there is a difference in between doing it once a month and once a day. Using an illegal substance is against the law and shouldn't be done. You might start by using it once a month and the next thing you know, you're hooked on it for life. My advice, just don't start. Stop while you can still say no.

Even though you can't become physically addicted to pot, you can become psychologically addicted to it, and that can be just as hard as a physical addiction to kick. On the other hand, occasional use is really not that bad, and the teachers are wrong about becoming addictive after one use. Addiction has been shown to be a genetic preponderance, and so if you have an addictive makeup, then any drug or activity can become addictive. I smoked pot for about 25 years, and felt addicted to it myself, and found it really hard to stop. I stopped many times and left it for weeks, months even years in the past, but all it took was one jay to get me started again, and I believe that I am genetically predisposed to addiction as my Father was an Alcoholic, and was unable to quit right up until he died. If you feel you can handle it now and then, don't worry about, but since you have concerns and have expressed them here, then you are probably on the right track and should stay away from all forms of recreational drug use.

I'm in high school (grade 9) and I do weed about as much as you do. I have a few friends who do it several times a week, but I wouldn't go as far as that because it starts getting seriously bad at that point AND YES you can get addicted to it, and MOST people do, but some people like me or you can control it better. I usually do it before big exams or tests to get off stress.
A couple times a month is ok, but no every day. If you do it every day you will be messed. There is this one girl in my school that does it every single day and she's seriously messed up. I'm in one of her classes, and she just lays there for the whole period sleeping.
But seriously, there is a HUGE difference between once a month and every day. But don't do it for the rest of your life. Try to cut back as soon as you think your having too much, and don't do it after high school or even after grade 11, because you may ruin your chances to get into university, or get a job.

Look guy, I know people who did get addicted from it. Also, even if you aren't addicted, I have watched people start using it and lose all ambition for life, getting god grades, living working or having anything. It costs you family and job and life eventually so stop now. Most people who smoke it have something bothering them. You need different friends before you become a drug addict. A bad apple spoils the bunch.

Various people respond differently to their first taste of drugs. This is a great opportunity for you to never try it again!!! If you're not getting hooked on it than pull away before you do! Marijuana does nothing but terrible things to your body, no matter how many times you do it. Every time is bad, even if you don't feel the bad effects now, you WILL regret it later. PLEASE do not go down that road. It only leads to horrid consequences.

1. People said you CAN get addicted from trying it once. They did not say you will definitely get addicted.
2. The question would be what is the difference between getting caught on your monthly joint and getting caught on your daily joint. I would think there is none. Health-wise I would assume smoking every day would be worse than smoking monthly.

Everybody puts different stuff into their drugs, you may get some sort of mixed drug that messes you up.
If they test your hair they can tell what drugs you've been doing for as long as the hair has been growing. I don't know if pot shows up for those, but if it does imagine how hard it would be to explain if you ever got in trouble and had to take drug test?
(they can assign drug tests for shoplifting and traffic issues or basically whenever a judge see's you and doen't like you)

addiction varies depending upon the person. some ppl get adicted immediately, and some ppl take a while for it to happen (its the same with alcohal). each time you smoke, you increase your chances of getting addicted, and just be glad it hasn't happened yet. i'd be careful if i were you...you dont want to end up arrested or harmed.
