depends on what martial art you are in to brother
BJJ and Judo gis are pretty much the same but not quite
tip don't go cheap on a gi, if you do its not going to last long and you get what you pay for,
if its BJJ your looking for

Depends on the discipline you're studying dude.
If you're studying Jujitsu or Judo, Hapkido or Aikido, you'll want at least an 8oz. but 10oz is better.
but if your studying a discipline like one of the disciplines of Karate, Mosul (Korean Martial arts), you'll just need somethin up to an 8oz uniform unless you get into competitions where the heavier weight uniforms have a sharper look to them.

Ask someone in your school if you can try theirs on for size comparison. I find that the sizes change from manufacturer to manufacturer. But if you get a heavy weight it should last you for years with proper care so choose wisely.

go with a heavy gi . lighter ones rip too easy .
