Sounds like you want something different, but simple. I would go for a mojito. All you need to do is get some fresh mint, which almost all supermarkets have, and cruch it into a glass. Fill it the rest of the way with ice, pour about two shots of light rum, and the rest with soda water. Mix a tablespoon of sugar in, and squeeze some lime, or lemon, and Enjoy.
Or for a more winter drink, try a Brandy Alexander.
1.5 shots of Brandy, 1 shot Dark Creme De Cocoa, and rest cream, or half & half. Shake with ice, and strain. If desired, drop a pinch of nutmeg on top

Cranberry and vodka works, cuz cranberry hides the taste of the alcohol. I also love killer kool-aid. Its cranberry, vodka and a little melon liquer. its sweet too. If you like Baileys then you might like a B52. The reason you don't like martinis or cosmos is because there are mostly vodka with a splash of flavor. You want a drink that has more "chaser" juice or soda.

Amarula is awesome on the rocks with a splash of water. If you like Baileys you'll like this. Its a fruit from Africa that elephants eat from the Marula tree. Supposedly they get drunk from them. But the liquor is not strong at all. It is like Baileys or Godiva.

I make this one, so believe me it is good. You can even make this one if you have a blender. Take strawberries, lemons, limes, and bananas and mix them with Bacardi rum and apple juice. It is wonderful. Try it.
