I hate to disagree with most of the other poster, but I really don't think drinking water makes much difference to skin dryness. The exception would be extreme dehydration, but I doubt that is what you are talking about.

Skin dryness is mainly due to genetics (over which you have no control) and environment. Environmental factors include humidity, temperature, sun exposure, and chemical exposure (such as soap). If you live in a cold winter climate, your skin gets dryer due to the reduced air moisture, and due to decreased perspiration. Wind can also dry you skin.

Water is hydrating and every cell in your body requires it. Most people do not drink enough and dry skin is one of the symptoms because your cells do not have enough water in them.

Isn't it obvious? When you drink water, your body uses the nutrients to make your skin healthier. But if you get your skin actually wet, it will get drier... as the water on your skin dries, it dries up a lot of the water already IN your skin.
