lol there are so many AV software packages out there. WinXP comes with a free video maker. Windows Moive Maker.
All most all video editors work the same. The only difference is the bells and whistles. The Win Movie marker is very basic but works sort of like the rest.
You can find it by clicking on your start button > programs > accessories
You'll have your video screen then a time line at the bottom. The time line is where you place your audio and video clips. Which is basic with all AV software. Once you place your video clips in the time line you can blend them using transions. Such as fading, blur in or out...I could go on and on about it..lol
But check it out and do a google search for av software and download some trial software. Ulead and Adobe is the way to go. They both provide free trial software. If you have a dvd-r check your cd's. Almost all dvd-r drives come with some sort of movie maker software.

I guess u should have MOVIE MAKER already in your Windows XP,,, that ought do it... u can edit movie files,, also sound clips,, by using it...
Although I failed when I was trying to split my 3 hr. WAV Audio File into 3 files (1 hr. each/separate)... Do help me when u ace it !!!!
