MY VACCUM SEEMS TO PULL MY CARPETING UP, AND THERE ARE BUMPS LIKE SPEED BUMPS IN A PARKING LOT. I'D LIKE TO TRY TO STRETCH IT MYSELF RATHER THAN CALL SOMEONE IN TO DO IT. EVERYONE IS SO VERY BUSY RIGHT NOW, JUST BEFORE CHRISTMAS.

yes, they have a tool called a "carpet kicker". it is normally used for pro's....but you put the teeth of the tool along the borders of your carpet, and kick it in with your knee.

the tool sales for about $50....at Lowe's or Home Depot

Only if you have a carpet kicker. You can call any carpet store to come stretch it for you. In our area they charge anywhere from 75-$100.00 to do it. I'm sure they could fit you in before Christmas. We are booked through the 14th and I know a lot of installers begging for work right now.

There is a tool that carpenters use it works like a flat hammer that you kick it with your knee.

I would get a group of friends have them pull the carpet and buy the nail strips sold by the carpet section of home depot and lay it under the carpet and that should hold your carpet in place or try heavy furniture.

You may be able to rent a carpet stretcher at your local Home Depot. You might need new tack strip at the edges of your carpet. You can get this at the home improvement store, too. It's not difficult to do, but in my experience, it's easier with two people.

you also can try a 2 by 4 and make sure you take up one side of the carpet, so you can stretch it good, buy pushing the 2by 4 from end of the room to the next and make sure you tack it back down..
