It does, sry. Do the sick diet. Drink plenty of water. Make sure you get alot of vitamin C, either in orange juice, oranges, or tablets. Also get a fruit and vegetable of every color. Make sure to eat lots of greens like spinach. Also eat nuts like almonds and pecans. If you eat these then you will get vitamins of every kind and it speeds up the process alot. Also do your best NOT to drink soda, coffee, and eat junk food (slows down process)
Hope you feel better soon!
Also keep make sure to get lots of sleep and there are also stuff at the store that can help. I usually drink airborne. Go ahead and take some mediciene if want, but some can make it last longer.

I'm in the same boat right now. A horrible cold.

Do yourself a favor and get some of those good cold pills. The ones that you have to show id at the pharmacy to purchase even though they are over the counter cold pills.

Also get some good cough medicine that you can take while also on those cold pills.

Keep well hydrated, eat a balanced diet and get plenty of rest. No matter how you treat a cold, it'll take you roughly seven days to get over it. Vitamin C may help somewhat, and Zicam can help if you're in the first 24 hours of a cold.

Plenty of fluids: Juices, water, tea, clear broth
Plenty of colorful foods: the more colors you eat, the more vitamins you're getting
Plenty of sleep: you can't fight the icky germies if you're tired
Plenty of patience: They say you can take meds for 7 days or just wait it out for a week, either one will get you well.

In addition, my mom was always chasing me to keep socks on my feet. Old wisdom, but it worked...

Remember that for as long as you have a fever, your body is chasing out the bad gunk, so stay home from work/school instead of passing around the bugs.

Feel better!

A cold treated or untreated lasts for 7 days.
Drink lots of fluid in the form of soups, juices, warm water with honey etc.
Have an Actifed, it helps.
Even I am in the same boat with a flu.

Get Actifed, a cold medicine. It will dry up your nose so that you can breathe better, and if you pop paracetamols together with it, you will heal faster. I'm having cold as well, and that is what I'm doing right now... but of course, Actifed makes you sleepy, so you might wanna take it only before you sleep.

Drink lots of liquids (hot & cold), get enough rest, wash your hands often, take Vitamin C. Realize that it takes 7 days to get over the cold with or without doing anything.
