What the best way to increase stamina? I'm 232 lbs so don't tell me something crazy. I joined a gym recently. When I work out on the treadmill, I walk/speed walk for 10 minutes. Then I increase the speed and jog/run for 5. Walk uphill for another 5 and then cool down for 10. Where do I impove or how to build stamina from this? (That 5 minutes of running is "all out' I cant run for another minute after.)

the only thing that you can do is to keep at it. when the workout that you are doing now gets easy, go for longer or faster.

All I can say is just what redpeach said.....keep at it, when I started on a stationary bicycle, I could hardly do 3 minutes at 120 rpm which is where my training started....after 6 months, I was doing 30 continuous mintes on the bicycle at 120 rpm's and not beginning to break a sweat yet.....so just keep at it and as the 5 minutes seem easier, increase your time. It will increase your stamina

you'll slowly get used to that routine and incease what you can do grad.ly.....it also doesn't mean you have to quote run- if you're doing a pretty good incline to the treadmill it'll work your legs even harder sometimes. GOOD LUCK. Get some weight training in there if you can as well.....it'll help tone at the same time.

You're already doing it. You just add a lil extra time or tension each time and that will increase it.
