Bible says: worship/believe in God/Jesus and you'll go to Heaven.
What if the Bible said if you don't believe in Heaven, you would just die and that would be it (atheist's point of view)? One would cease to exist.
Right now though the Bible says if one don't worship god, one goes to Hell ("follow me or else" - threat). Believing something and being punished for it is morally wrong. You wouldn't get married to someone and say, "I love you forever, unless you step out of line; I will proceed to beat you, burn you and torture you." That's not love.
So God will send you to Hell. God doesn't love you. God loves you when you love him. If you don't love God, God hates you for he sends you eternally to Hell (punishment).
Is that a loving or good God? Or is that a vindictive, nasty, evil God?

If you're defensive, you see it as a threat. But if you're not defensive, you just might see it as a loving warning.

God says, "Do not driveth that car."

The defensive person responds with, "You're always telling me what to do! I'll do whatever I damn well please!"

...and then the brakes give way and you go careening off a cliff. It's not like He didn't warn you, right?

If you're not defensive, you might realize that there's a reason for everything that God does or says. And knowing this, even though you don't understand His reasoning at the moment, you heed His warning. And your life is spared.

He's not evil or cruel. He only does what is necessary to challenge you enough to become better, tougher, smarter people. If you refuse to rise to his challenges, essentially throwing a tantrum, taking your ball and going home, then you're not reaping the benefit of the challenges that he lovingly puts in your way. You don't get anywhere in life if you're never given challenges to overcome. Why do we hate God for that??

And BTW, it's not a threat of being tossed into hell. He's warning you that you are making a choice to forever be cut off from His love. You don't even know it, but you have his love right now. You know the saying "you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone". Well maybe we should be trying to understand what it is that we're throwing away by drawing closer to Him while we're given the choice and the chance. There will come a day someday when your choice will have been made...even by your lack of making a choice...and there will be no more opportunity. And you WILL be sorry then, but there will be nothing to be done for it. He's trying to save you from that.

I think you are definitely mis-interprating what the Bible says. God sent his only son, Jesus to the earth and he was tortured all so that WE could be forgiven. He went through the most painful death possible just for you. The Bible says that Jesus was thinking about every person who would ever walk the earth, that includes you. He died because He didn't want you to go to Hell. Look at all of the wonderful things God has provided for us, love, hope, joy. The Bible also says that all bad things happen for a reason. Ever since i accepted Christ into my heart, the bad things don't seem as bad. Yes, i do feel sorry for all of those people who have to spend eternity in Hell, and i feel sorry for people who think that we will just cease to exist when we die. Why would we even be here on earth? How did we get here? Did we just pop up out of no where, or do you think we evolved from some animal.... i don't know what you believe, or even if you believe in anything but God is anything but evil, vindictive and nasty.

MAN decided the rules not GOD. God didn't fax down a list of do's and dont's in a religious context it was MAN himself. GOD is a powerful being that created life from energy and our planet being in the right place at the right time. God is not in the form of a human and GOD is not a him.

Fear throughout the ages has made man follow what was written in the bible. A book with so many contradictions. When one of these contradictions is pointed out the people that follow these rules they change them to suit themselves.

It is only upon death that the truth is known that you don't burn in the fires of hell if you don't follow the rules that MAN devised to create fear in his fellow man.

The world would be a better place without religion to spawn fear and hate amongst the people.

i think of that the reason that many Christians worry God is the end results of indoctrination from an somewhat youthful age. My mom, even however intellectually confident that there is not any God, confessed to me that she nevertheless feels to blame and hectic on occasion. She replaced into raised in a devoutly Catholic family, and that i've got self assurance that the repeated threats of eternal damnation and hellfire that would result from even minor "sins" left an enduring mark on her psyche. i've got self assurance that many Christians experience an identical effect.

Hi JR, just tuned into YouTube for the first time ever - thanks to your link to Gisburne2000. And I am IMPRESSED:))) Not only with your question but also G's awfully sensible argument,

I quite literally couldn't have put it better myself, although I've been struggling to do so for years now.
Partially because I don't consider the God-thing all that important, but also because I don't want to attract the wrath of God if I turn out to be grossly in error - lol. (Yeah OK, that bit was a joke:))

Anyway, thank you RJ. You've got YouTube AND Gisburne2000 a new subscriber (with the User Name rob8urcakes). I'll be tuning in regularly to pick up the "Gospel".

Thank you, thank you, thank you.......

All gods are creations of religious people, and as such, reflect the best/worst of those people. The reason psychologists and therapists have a field day with religion is that god is a projection of the human mind, and because of this, god is alarmingly imperfect.

No, you are really screwed up in your mind. God has specifically said that He loves all of His creation, regardless of whether they believe in Him, worship Him or whatever.

God doesn't send people to hell. Hell is just a word some people use to describe a state of being without God - and realising it.

If you listen to what God has to say to you personally, you cannot fail to understand what He is about. You don't get this understanding from books, you get it from listening in your heart and understanding from your own conscience what other people say and have written and also you learn to hear God speak to you in your mind, the more you are in tune with Him.

God wants us to fear him (Like us fearing him cause he can take away our family or give us a new family member)

Remember God/Jesus loves you!

The church is the one screaming follow God or else. God wants you to come to him, this I'm sure of, but he lets you do it in your own time, your own way. This is why I quit going to church. They basically said do it our way or you're doomed, and I don't believe that is the way God operates.

We Christians believe in the one and only Mighty God who created the whole universe with his mighty power He is the Great Jehovah, the God of Abraham, Issac & Jacob (Israel).

He never use fear in order to gain acceptance and followers. Only once it is mentioned in the Holy Bible that all those whose name is not found in the book of life will be thrown in to the Lake of fire.

He is not even pleased in the death of wicked people. fo he loves all his creation and wants none to be lost by the snares of the god of this world (Satan) who always deceive mankind with the wealth & pleasures of this world and fear.
