The bible says that we should take communion often. Is it okay to give my kids communion every day? They are both born-again christians. I use the communion wafles and grape juice! They love it!

I think communion should be given within a church as it is a church ordinance. Jesus said to do it in remembrance of Him.

You said your children are both born-again, do they understand the meaning of communion? The reason I ask, and I don't mean to offend, is that alot of kids see it as a snack and don't understand the real meaning. I know I did as a young person.

Kind of depends on your denomination. Some see communion as only a symbol, and therefore anyone can give communion as long as there is an understanding of what those symbols represent. Some regard communion as a sacrament, which means that since you're not giving communion properly, what you're doing is ineffective and does not impart any grace whatsoever.

There is no sin being committed in partaking of unblessed communion wafers and grape juice. But you might ask the pastor of their own denomination/faith group what they think of your practice.

No. This is indeed considered blasphemous. Why not state that this is 'practice' time instead? The waffles and grape juice aren't even consecrated and the only person that can correctly consecrate a Host is a Catholic priest. You are actually making a mockery of the Sacrifice of Christ's death, and the Blood He shed. I understand your exuberance and joy of your faith but do this with the understanding that this sort of introduction to the children removes the reverence for when there is Communion available at church.

Age of accountability, that is what I call it. I also am born again and have a 5yr old 6 yr old and 8yr old. Who all participate in communion. They are also aware of the commitment to God. This is the body and blood of Christ. Communion is for all who are worthy. The sad part is your children are probably more worthy than most adults who take communion.

If they are christians then its okay. Because the bible says that if a non-christian takes communion, he is offending God.

During the Last Supper, it was the feast of the Pentecost(if i am not mistaken). Because Jesus is a Jew, He celebated the Pentecost with His apostles. They used unleavened bread & wine because the Pentecost is the commemoration of the Israelites' bitter experience during their slavery in Egypt.
I'm not criticizing any religion here but is it right to use juice & ordinary bread?

We Catholics believe that Holy Communion is the true Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of our Lord Jesus. If a kid is Catholic, they cannot receive Communion until they are at least 7 years old which is they age of reason and they have to have first studied their Catechism for 2 years so that they can be informed about what Holy Communion is and what it means in their life as a Catholic Christian. Because of our belief we do not want anyone to take lightly or nonchalantly the great gift of Jesus in His physical presence in the Holy Eucharist. For those who believe this with all of their hearts, yes, it is OK and very encouraged for adults and Children to take Communion every day when possible.

Jesus Himself instituted the Sacrament of Holy Communion when he pronounced the words over the bread at the Last Supper saying, "This is MY BODY which will be given up for all". Then He said to His Disciples, "Do this in remembrance of Me." Then He pronounced the words over the cup of wine, " This is MY BLOOD of the New Covenant which will be shed for many" " Do this in remembrance of Me." Jesus was saying to His Apostles that He wanted them to go forth and say those same words over the bread and wine on the altar during Holy Mass, and through the gift of the Holy Spirit that is given to every priest during his ordination, the bread and wine is "Transubstantiated" and becomes miraculously Jesus' own Body and Blood Physically and Spiritually. It may look and taste like bread and wine, but it has all of the composition and qualities of real flesh and blood. There have been many documented accounts of Eucharistic Miracles throughout history Where it has been proven through scientific investigation that the Holy Eucharist is in fact real flesh and real blood. Sometimes the Hosts have actually bled and sometimes it even took on the appearance of fresh flesh. These miracles are God's way to prove to those who are skeptical and to those who are weak in their faith that Holy communion is truly the Body and Blood of Jesus who promised Himself to us. Jesus said "I AM the Bread of Life". He also said, "Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my Blood will live forever." He was referring to His faithful children receiving Holy Communion which is Himself in His true flesh and blood, and receiving it with complete faith in His precious words to us about this amazing life giving gift which strengthens our faith and leads us to Heaven.

You say you are born again Christian, so I assume you are not Catholic. I do not think that most other churches have the words of Jesus at the Last Supper pronounced over the bread and wine to change it into Jesus' Body and Blood through Transubstantiation. However if you believe that this is Jesus when you receive the Holy communion without a single doubt, then I am sure you are blessed and your faith will give you the graces that one receives when they believe in it.

Jesus said "Suffer not the little children to come unto me.". So if your kids come to believe, encourage them to come to Jesus in every way possible.

if they do not believe that the communion is truly the body and the wine the blood of christ and that he becomes truly present then they are profaning the body and blood of christ. not trying to offend you but the scripture is clear on this matter.
