If I lose something like a piece of jewelry which I bought for myself - (i.e., not received as an heirloom or other gift of sympathetic value) but nontheless am very fond of - and pray to find it again, does God (even if he grants my request) disapprove of my concern for a material item? (Sorry for the marathon sentence!) Thanks for all responses. Yes, even the spoof ones. (They remind me to appreciate the fact that I actually have a life)!

FYI, those of you who don't know what you're talking about - I already found it. Yesterday. The question is philosophical and has nothing to do with whether I can find it or God will help me to. You have to read the actual question now and then. Not just the headline. Either that or just learn to read.

God is very pleased when you ask Him for help.

Even for a parking space.

Yes He will answer. I went with my daughter to a forest in Austria. It had rained during the night so there were puddles everywhere. She lost one of her antique gold hoop earrings which was very expensive. We got home and prayed. The next day we went back to the forest to search. Would you believe that we saw the earring glistening in a very brown muddy puddle? She is five and this happened two years ago!!! She is a firm believer that nothing is impossible with God.

No wonder the world is in such bad condition. God can't keep ahead of all the petty crap long enough to work on the important stuff. I.m sure god disapproves of your petty little wants and needs.

There are thousands upon thousands of people starving and you think god is going to help you find a piece of jewelry before he provides everyone with food? Yes, he disapproves.
