Catholics understand the teaching of St. Frances of Assisi
"let your actions evangelise and use words only if necessary" I'm paraphrasing but you get the picture.

Sometimes the bible is used as a prop terrible as that is. These types love to pontificate it makes them look important.

by the way do you know where all these neat terms come from, like for example your devil's advocate nick? Take a guess ;)

if I had a legal way to never pay taxes, people would say I'm selfish if I didn't share the knowledge

If there was a guy on the Internet giving a hundred dollars to the first ten thousand emailers, if I kept it a secret, people would question my wisdom

But no, all I have is the secret to eternal life, the mystery that brings Joy in this life and eternity with God in the next.
why do I preach? Ive got something wonderful and I just gotta share Him!

i don't like those type of nasty assumptions lol. before each and everything i'm thoroughly with you, some persons bypass about it the incorrect way, and some persons have a finished lack of recognize for persons's beliefs. i do not imagine that is sweet to label all of them as self righteous although, from a number of their perspectives they somewhat believe that they try that ought to really help you. Now i comprehend, you possibly imagine 'yeh with techniques from threatening me with hell' i comprehend, this is the incorrect thanks to bypass about issues, and admittedly it does not some thing at any price. there's a moderate irony in threatening those with some thing they suspect does not exist, like me affirming i do not comprehend do such and such otherwise the boogyman will come out of your closet interior the technique the nighttime and swallow you entire. makes no experience accurate? although the point is that many also believe that they try that ought to really help you, and in my opinion this is the reason that concerns, not the act. Who do you get more advantageous annoyed at, the guy who deliberately tries to step on your foot yet misses, or the guy that steps on your foot, yet in elementary words with techniques from twist of destiny. To the latter questions, properly i do not pontificate in any respect...somewhat that couldn't actual, there are situations even as someone i comprehend is in favor i am going to tell them my studies of God, even though it truly is it. i do not imagine that is an boastful question, yet please do not assume that Christians are all self righteous there are a kind of Christians that are boastful, a twin of there are a kind of non-believers that are boastful too. Have a very good day =] Oh and for the record, that guy talking about capturing atheists. he's a troll, you'll discover lots of the style in this talk board attempting to misrepresent Christians :)

Some Christian sects push the philosophy that to be a true Christian, you must go out and evangelize and "spread the Good News". Then there are those of us brought up in churches where we learned from the gospels (Matthew, I believe) that when we pray to God we must do so in secret. That we aren't supposed to draw attention to ourselves and make much ado about the fact that we're praying (Look at me, darling, I'm praying! I'm praying!) So that's why I think you get a lot of preaching.

It's not really preaching; it is spreading the word. God never give up on anyone and neither do Christians. You never know when someone will be touched by the Spirit of the Lord and open up to hear the words of God. May God Bless You.

it's part of the "Great Commission." Go ye into all the world and preach!

It's every Christian desire to bring as many people as possible with them to Heaven. Think of it as an offer of a gift. We want you to have what we have!

I can reciprocate your question. Why do You, the devil's advocate get on this site and preach
against the Christian, God's Advocates? As long as you preach the gospel of the devil, we will preach the Gospel of God. Nobody ask you to either.

I was not aware that all christians did that. Oh wait... that's because they don't all do that! Thanks for making a really broad generalization. I do know what you are talking about and yes it is annoying when someone with any personal belief trys to push it on you. However I think it is important to note that it is not ALL of any group that does it.

Everything is related one way or another to God.

Plus why not tell others..If a ship was sinking, and you knew the passage on the ship to the life boats.. and there was a endless supply of them to save everyone on board... and you had the time to pass the information to others on your way to the boat yourself wouldn't you?

Or would you be selfish and only save yourself?.

When you have the answer and you love people, you want them to have the joy of knowing how to recieve Jesus into their life.
The most important thing is not to judge God by the short coming of His people. As Christians we too are seeking God's help.
