the best one is one that you wrote. but if you suck at that, you could always go with james blunt "you're beautiful"...NOT.

It depends .. a very, very ... but very sweet one ?... ummm. Don't know, these times it is a little bit hard to find "those beautiful, sweet and very romantic songs".. with all my respects, of course.
But i think a song that "never fails".. unchained melody, it is too beautiful. Or try Elvis Presley, He is a very good one either.. "you were always on my mind", or "the wonder of you", from Elvis too.
Try with old music, it is my recomendation...Chicago, Kenny Rogers, The beeges...Or Bryan Adams, he isn't that old, but he is very Romantic.. "when you really love a woman".
Good Luck with whatever you decide, and i trust in your "good likes".

I can't think of a direct song but maybe if you just type in generic sentences on google, song lyrics may come up for a song you like.

Beyonce's Dangerously In Love is a good one. Frankie J has a lot of I love You songs. Me Amor is a really good one.
