I have a nice big one that goes right across my lower back. I have two butterflies on either side of a black swirly design. When I got it it did not hurt as bad as I thought. It is hard to tell someone a pain factor because some people can tolerate pain better than others. On a scale from 1-10 I would say about a six. That number is actually how I felt after it was done that night. When it is healing, which takes a couple weeks, it feels similar to a sunburn. I hope that helps!

Don't expect to walk into a tatoo place and think it's not going to hurt. IT WILL. ALOT. When you go there, make sure it is a very sanitary place that replaces their needles with every tatoo. You can easily contract AIDS with other peoples blood on dirty needles. Although I don't have a lower back tatoo, I have a fairy tatoo on my leg. It is not as noticable, and when your 80, do you really want some skanky tatoo on your back? I didn't think so.

I have a full back tattoo, and the lower back is the worst of it. The mid-back isn't bad, and the upper back is the easiest. Different parts of the body have different levels of sensitivity. A good way to judge your sensitive spots is to give them the pinch test. A tattoo always hurts, but it's not something you won't be able to handle. I always describe it as getting a bee sting (over, and over, and over)

My daughter got her first tattoo 2 years ago today on her lower back (I had to sign a permission slip and sit with her as it was getting done, she was14)I took her myself so she would get it done properly, any way to answer your question, she nearly bit the skin from my knee ,It hurt a lot but it didn't stop her from getting a second one about a year and a half later. No,I don't have any myself,I'm a big chicken!

Yes of course it does, but the results are worth it, if you like your tatoo. A small tatoo such as an irish clover is okay. Does not take as many hours.

ALL tattoos hurt, if someone tells you different they are lying to you. The pain is not unbearable though. Just consider what you want to get and where. Try to get it in aplace that can easily be covered. I foolishly got one on my forearm and I am always being judged by it. It is a forever decision.

You should definitely think twice before getting a lower back tattoo. There's a stigma that goes with that kind of tattoo. Do you really want something that most men refer to as a "tramp stamp". Also, that is not one of the places on you body that ages gracefully.

To me it was more of an uncomfortable feeling. Be sure its really what you want, they are permanent! I researched designed, pulled a few I liked and came up with my own. Its unique and I like that....

be aware..tattoos can become addictive!!!
