Of course the only logical, common-sensical, and commonly accepted answer to your question is "mittens".
The reason they are better is because unlike gloves, the fingers in a mitten are all together, helping to keep the whole hand and each other warm. Also, the surface area of a glove, with all its material and cold air between each finger means that there is more cold air around each finger, thus a gloved hand is harder to keep warm than a hand in a mitten.
It's simple science and common sense.

Mittens are for hot thing s so you won't get burnt. So I prefer using gloves to keep your hands WARM.

I use both depending on if I need fingers or not. But with the materials they use now it really doe not matter. But Mittens are better fro snowball making:)
