My fiancee and I will be getting married Winter of next year. I am struggling to find sme colors that are just right for the both of us and my bridesmaides. He like colors like red, dark blue, and black(dark colors), me on the other hand like bright lively colors(pastels light blue, lavender, pinks, silvers and golds), the total opposite of his colors. He dont want to help me with the wedding which I knew he wasnt but I at least want him to help me with the colors.
What colors do you suggest will be something that will fit good with the both of us?

Well, since he doesn't seem that interested I'd pick a bright color for the bridesmaids dresses for what would be prettier than light blue against the dreary grey of the winter. Were you to pick light blue for the bridesmaid dresses then his tux or suit could be dark blue or even black with a light blue vest and in your flowers that you carry there can among other colors also be noticeable light blue. Havig the bridesmaids dresses be silver with some pink accents would also be nice for then his vest could be silver/grey and you could have silver in your flowers-would also be a nice winter color.Whatever you pick remember It Is Your Day for I believe the fineries mean more to the woman than the man anyway. I wish you not just a splendid wedding but a happy fulfilled life with much joy

Red and white with silver accents
Navy Blue and white with silver accents
Burgundy and hunter green
Most of all try not to stress too much over. Pick what fits the two of you and go on to the next thing. It will be a special day no matter what colors everyone is wearing. You know his tastes and yours so use that to build from. And don't let someone else tell you "that's not how it's supposed to be". Do what ever the two of you want because that is what the whole day is about: The commitment you both have chosen to make. Enjoy it for the celebration that it is.
Congratulations and best wishes!

This one is easy. Take the darker colors he likes, and accent them with the pastels you like. I work banquets and weddings and let me tell you I have seen many beautiful weddings this year. Give him the blood red he likes and accent it with a nice ivory, or a rose, almost pink color. Hunter green with silver, navy blue with light light green or lavender. Don't worry about the . season, the lighter color comes out in the small things. Just take some color samples from a paint store ( you know, all those little strips of paper) mix and match you will be surprised. All of a sudden the right combination will knock your (and his) socks or whatever your wearing off. Also remember this is your wedding so no matter what anyone says about "people do this and people do that" the only rule is the one you and your man make. Have fun, relax and heres to a lifetime of happiness together.

You can easily work all those colors into something you both will like. Use the dark navy, light blue and silver as your main colors...then you can incorporate white and lavender in with the flowers.

You can also be creative with your linens for the reception and alternate tables with a dark blue and a light blue table cloth with alternating napkin colors. The centerpieces can be tall and short and should reflect the white, silver and a little bit of lavender.

I would go with navy blue and silver or white. but use the navy blue as an accent color, like a trim so it wouldn't be over powering. Maybe use the navy blue as a trim and light blue for a base color for the bridesmaids dresses? A blue and gold color scheme could go great with a winter themed wedding, also.

I love the red idea! It's a great winter colour, and looks beautiful on most people providing you find the right shade (i.e. not brilliant red). A deep wine colour would be stunning. metallic is always great in the winter, although I think it is more tastful to have accents or trims metallic rather than the whole dress.

Traditionally, pastels are really inappropriate for a winter wedding. I would steer clear of them, or take a light colour you like and use a darker, more muted version of it.

I have two friends that tried to use unseasonal colors (hunter green in March and burgundy in September) for their weddings and it made it very hard to shop for the bridesmaids. For a winter wedding, you should stick with a dark color with a light complimentary color, like navy blue/silver, burgundy/silver, dark red/gold. You also have to think of what flowers are available!

hm-mm, try to compromise! find a femme, flirty and fabulous wedding dress in a pastel colour ( any that you favor hon, it's YOUR wedding ;-D) and also focus on the design of the dress-like the details , extra touches, and etc- such as glitter, the bows and ribbons on it, maybe it's frilly, the cut(s), the prints on it- and especially design! - those unique touches could have or include the bold daring dark colours that your man just craves! have a designer's help or go to the store where you get your wedding dress from- ask for the owner's, worker's and/ or a fashion designer' request or opinion, the idea is to compare and have a nice contrast with colours that compliment each other! also remember- makeup also can add flavor and spice to your look and make you look really nice! Good luck in the wedding!

how about choose one color each of you like? I think a navy/dark blue matched with silver would look really nice, especially for a winter wedding. Have an even number of bridesmaids to have equal number of the dresses, and an equal number of groomsmen to have equal tie colors matching the dresses.

Good luck, mucho congratulations & I hope I helped!

I'm choosing lavendar and beige but for a winter wedding i think very light blue with white would be beautiful.
have you taken him to see you in a dress? maybe his mind might change when he sees the woman he's gonna spend the rest of his life with, so innocent and beautiful with excitement in her eyes knowing that it really doesn't matter what she's wearing it's how much he loves her regardless on colors. Good Luck!
