"Here's to bow-legged women!" Jaws

LOL, Actually that is the most memorable, because it is from the movie Jaws.

I loved this one, heard at a birthday party...toast was made by the birthday man: "Here's health to those I love and wealth to those who love me."

I remember this one from a wake when a friend of the family died: "Do not weep; do not wax indignant. Understand."

Here are a few more that I like:

"May your coffins be made of 100 year old oak that was planted just yesterday."

"May all your ups and downs be between the sheets."

"All that we have drank, sang, and danced, no one will ever take away from us."

"Here's to women, the fruit of the vine, they bloom once a month, and bear fruit every nine. They're the only creature this side of hell, who can bring juice from a nut without breaking the shell."

"May all your children have wealthy parents!"

"Here's to the men we love, and here's to the men that love us. But the men we love aren't the men that love us, so screw the men and here's to us!"

And last but not least....

"Friends may come and friends may go. Some friends peter out you know. But I'll be your friend through thick or thin. Peter out, or peter in."

Wow, this sounds really bad but my sis and I were at a party one time and wanted to do a toast before we started drinking. So her friend (who was drunk) bursts out with "To the pope!" Pope John Paul had died a couple of days before that. Even now we'll say it before we drink :)

At many of the Italian weddings I incredibly have been at there's a version of a toast to the bride and groom that is going... "mutually, might you burdens be 0.5 as heavy and your joys be two times as candy". i admire that one!
