After all, if he's all powerful, would his requiring or even asking for our praise be nonsensical? Would a human being get any satisfaction from being praised by, say, a horde of ants? Isn't the need for worship rather childish? Why should I worship anyone or anything? I wouldn't worship a President or a king, why should I worship God? (If he exists.)

If you were God, would you require people to worship you? Wouldn't you tell them, no, thanks it's not necessary? Doesn't it seem silly for God to require or allow us to continue to worship him?

Good question. It takes understanding of the underlying principle of worship itself. I practice Hinduism. Right God does not need to be worshiped by us. It is for the purpose of making our ego submit and be humble because it is our ego and mind that keeps us separate from God. In order to make the ego submit and feel God within ourselves, feel Oneness with God, we worship God which helps bring us closer to the Divinity.

The process of worshiping helps our minds focus on God. It's what works. I mean if we don't do this, then we will forever be stuck in this illusion that our ego and mind continuously believe to be the eternal reality when it is not.

We are mere instruments in God's hand. We are like a pen in the hand. The pen cannot function without the guidiance and will of the hand. Our ego likes to think that the pen can work and fuction on its own, causing its will to move. It is only God's will that allows us to function, to live and breathe, to make choices, to do certain things. It cannot happen without God holding us in His hand.

So in essence to help the ego step aside and say "Okay I am not all that exist. O God, You are all that exists. You really are the reason I exist. You alone cause me to breathe. You alone let me me live.", we must worship God, not for God, but for us to overcome the ego's selfishness and illusions.

I consider a diety's desire for worship to be something like a person's desire for love and acceptance. Sure, the person could live just fine without it, but they'd be much happier with it. It loses its meaning if its forced. But if you don't feel you ought to be worshipping a diety, there's really no point. It'd be like pretending to love someone.

And there is proof in the Bible of such. Jesus did not tell us to worship God, but to love God.

"Our father in Heaven"

Does any good parent want his children to worship him? of course not.

The only thing God wants is for his children to get along with each other.

God is genuine, is God one that acknowledges that of prepared faith? i think of that God is often around me, yet how can or no longer it quite is around me, taking my prayers, on an identical time as additionally around all others? i'm no longer specific, I have no specific award, no golden glow, no longer something which makes me any distinctive from every person else. i could have extra and on the comparable time under others. So why might I determine that there is an ever understanding existence familiar to all purely as God? it quite is what i've got self assurance as quickly as I awaken and wipe the dry from my eyes, it quite is what i've got self assurance whilst i've got self assurance a breeze on my shoulder, it quite is the glisten I see in my niece's eyes whilst she laughs, it quite is not a query of if there's a God. Many will say which you will worship in a "Church", yet i'm against them, and sense that God does not ask that of me. you purely could save on with the instruction manual strains, that are that of consent. do no longer homicide. do no longer Rape. do no longer thieve. to boot that, do what you like, and if i'm incorrect, you do no longer situation me. it quite is plenty extra desirable than i'm able to declare in a small positioned up, inspite of the undeniable fact that it quite is very easy and specific a non secular background will branch those 3 out right into a civil society, yet till extra human beings comprehend it, and end basically questioning that non secular human beings screw boys, or blow up homes, we can consistently have problems. i might quite see human beings cover their ideals than them taken as terrible issues. i do no longer cover mine on objective, I save them interior my blouse (on the brink of my coronary heart) reason i'm no longer faking it, I have no could parade my ideals around, i'm no preacher. i've got self assurance what I do, and others are loose to do the comparable. Worship is like thanksgiving..for..the breath you just took..the skin that holds your innards in...the feeling you get when someone tells you they Love you....He does exist...and He gave his Only Son so we(mankind) could live on after we acted in such an ungrateful fashion. Read the Bible, and allow it to make it's mark. I rest my case.

God did create us so we can worship Him. God is a jealous God.

Exodus 20:5 (KJ21, 21st Century King James Version)
5Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them; for I, the LORD thy God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate Me,

When we worship Him:
Ephesians 5:19-21 (KJ21, 21st Century King James Version)
19speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, 20giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, 21submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.

Also, God loved us so much, He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross for our sins. That we may have a chance to live with Him forever in Heaven.

God needs nothing!!!

We are the needy ones!

It s our desire and pleasure to worship Him, because of His great love for us. He has extended His great grace and mercy to use. He has given us everything we could ever need. not what we deserve.

Because of this, we love Him in return, and it gives us great joy to worship Him!
