we like cars.. so ask him about that... "thats a nice car.. personaly i like... sports cars..." then "point" at a car you think is cool.. he wont get all tech with you.. if he does.. look bored.. (the cool part is that his warming up to you) then try to either.. ask about the mombo jombo or change the subject to something else.. guys generally like: cars, sports, movies, gadgets like MP3 players.. stuff like that.. keep away from "he said she said" stuff, guys generally dont care for drama

Hows your day going? Or, if you know something he did today, like my Girlfriend has soccer practice on Tuesdays and Fridays, I ask her afterwards how her practice went!

Favorite time of year.
Favorite foods etc.
Send him a e-card with this stuff in it.
