Oh my heck, that's the worst thing I've ever heard of! I'm practically speechless!

This is Left Behind's response to those claims like the ones on the link you gave :
The makers of the game expressly deny, however, the premise as advertised. They claim that most of the people spreading information about a dominionist attitude within the game have never interviewed with or tested the game, and are spreading misinformation started by an unknown source. Any violence in the game, the makers contend, is either as a result of the riots following the rapture in the initial levels of the game, or are wholly self-defense as the main characters try to stay out of the clutches of the Antichrist-ruled "Global Community." While there is an evangelical element to the game, the makers want to emphasize the non-violent nature of evangelical activities, and the possibilities of non-violent confrontation within a video game.

Left Behind Games defends its choices by pointing out that killing depletes the unit's Spirit points. If Spirit points are sufficiently depleted, the unit becomes "lost" and defects to the Antichrist's army. "We found that adhering closely to Biblical philosophies made the game more interesting rather than less," Lyndon said. "One of the key elements of that is to make sure that the player sees that every life is important and precious.Furthermore, the game designers compare their game favorably to alternative games such as Grand Theft Auto, pointing out that Left Behind: Eternal Forces includes no sexual content, blood, decapitation, severed limbs, intestines, or vulgar language

While I don't condone violence and hatred, and I would be most upset if the Left Behind game did,I think it would be better if people found out from the game itself, rather than unsourced rumour.

Violence and hatred have been a big part of the Christian CHURCH'S history. That's a fact. Based on that, I would not think that this game is portraying Christian CHURCH in a bad (false) image.

I would say that this game portrays the Christian RELIGION in a bad (false) image. In the same way, I would also say that the violence and hatred of the Christian CHURCH has portrayed the Christian RELIGION in a bad (false) image.

So the question I have is, "Does the church portray the religion accurately?"

Wow. That is the biggest hypocritical thing I've seen in a long time... well, ok, I saw a few this morning. But still, that is sick. If it hits high on the charts, it'll confirm a lot of what people of other religions and Atheists have been saying about the majority of people in Christianity.

This one has gone beyond just a "bad image". They certainly can't say anything about how violent secular games are now.

The game and the book series is a perverse obsession with the end times. You see certain Christian sects that are very interested in that book series and preachers that put emphasis on end times. Sure it is interesting to think of the end times as it is the beginning but the obsession in deed is perverse and tends to go beyond morbid curiousity.

If there is any reason this video game is a danger it is because it takes kids off of the streets where they may meet one of these other people and have the chance to befriend them!
If your going to boycott video games, boycott them all; and boycott television; and boycott books. Boycott all activities that allow people to fail to confront one another intimately.

Crusades, witch burnings, killing in the name of god is nothing new. And it's not just christianity - it's islam, judiasm, pretty much any monotheistic religion. Leaders , religious and political, have successfully used religion to fulfill their agendas. And people blindly follow.

-Religion is regarded by the common people as true, by the wise as false, and by the rulers as useful. -Seneca

No, it's not 'disgusting' AT ALL !!!!! What IS disgusting, is that *everyone* else in the world has their own game, but when a REALISTIC REALITY game comes along, everyone is SO AFRAID of the *POWER* of it, that they must make up stories, and lies, (just like any other Christian activity) that they point fingers and whimper.

'Cm 'on! You can't honestly tell me you're *afraid* of this game, CAN you??? If YOU think this game is violent, just wait 'till the *real* 'games' begin!!! The *only* being *then* will be the anti-christ who'll be laughing his *ss off at you all, and pointing the finger for being such wimps!!! Wimps for making up excuses to try to stop a game that was WARNING about *him*!!!---and his company!!

WAKE UP!!! Don't BE Fooled!!!!!!

Although I liked the books, I don't think the video game is a good idea. Even the elect will be fooled.

yeah, they don't get that the fight will be in Israel, not trying to convert, but trying to hold on to our faith while standing against the sum total of the worlds power. but we'll have God on our side, almost feel sorry for the world in those days.
