he has to accept Jesus or he will go to hell?? I need a one shot kind of deal because he is realllllly impatient and doesn't want to listen to me preach. On one hand he believes in the Bible for the morality of the country but doesn't want to be bothered with reading it or hearing about it--talk about a walking contradiction-- please help! Muchas Gracias~~

John 5:24 I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life.

Eph: 2:8-9 God saved you by his special favor when you believed. And you can't take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.

Romans 10:9-10 For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved.

John 3:15 Everyone who believes in him may have eternal life.

John 11:25 I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies.

John 1:12-13 But to all who believed him and RECEIVED him, he gave the right to become children of God. They are reborn. This is not a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan - this rebirth comes from God.

John 3:3 Jesus replied "I assure you, unless you are born again, you can never see the Kingdom of God.

Take your pick of one or more of those verses depending on which one you think he will hear and understand.
Pray that the Lord will open his mind so he can think, and open his eyes so he can see, and open his ears so he can hear. I will pray as well.

If he doesn't believe in god, no quote from the bible is going to change anything. Really. Trust an atheist - most of us just kinda dismiss the bible in favor of evidence.

Just leave the poor guy alone. I'm sure he's sick of hearing you go on about how he's going to hell.

Besides, if he only accepts jesus because he'll go to hell otherwise, don't you think god would see right through that and send him to hell anyway?

I know you mean well, but SERIOUSLY...you will turn him off to the whole thing if you even attempt it. He has to decide for himself. You can't decide for him...you can't force it on him and you can't scare him into it. Do you think Jesus would want him to accept Him, ONLY because he's afraid of what might happen if he doesn't? Of course not. Jesus wants him to WANT to accept Him. Just don't push. I've found that as people age, and get closer to the end...many will find religion. Just a side note for future reference...if he finds Jesus when he's old...do NOT say 'I told you so.' Spirituality is an individual thing. It's his choice.

Your best bet with some people could be Chick Publications. They publish little comic book type stories that explain everything. At their website you can also read them for free so you can find the right one.
Many people who won't discuss God face to face will read these booklets when they are alone. Every booklet tells people the way to Jesus

John 3:16 says it beautifully but is very familiar...


Jesus prayer in John 17 is powerful but may I give you a little advice??
Don't force - it is God's work ultimately. As much as you love your Dad God loves him more. Pray unceasingly and show him God's love in your life and behavior.

As written above it is the heart, not the head.

Just about as plain of a scripture as you can find, as far as showing that sin brings about death, or torment in Hell; and that eternal life comes about only through Jesus Christ, is Rom. 6:23. All that you can really do is to pray to God to open his blind eyes; to make him realize that he must personally accept Jesus Christ as his Savior of his soul. But there are many people who are very hard to convince that they need to humble themselves before the hand of God. So all that you can do is to pray that God will bring him to his knees.

One of the ten commandments says you must honor your mother and father. This is more important that convincing your father that he will go to hell.

Why not the next time you see him, just give him a big hug, tell him how much you love him and how lucky you are to have him as a father.

I'll bet you that if you told him him he was going to hell, he would not convert, he would just become angry. If your father is a good man he will go to heaven, if he doesn't God is not just.

"This sums it up. Either we believe in Jesus, accept Jesus' death in our place, repent of our sins, confess Him before men, and be baptized as He commanded, or we will be eternally lost. The choice is ours.
