Who is to say what a Jew is? A Jew can be one of many things depending on the corner the Jewish person is backed into. A Jew can refer to just a religion, or a race, or certain part of a race. Oh who knows. Those jews are real kidders, too bad their jokes are inhumane.

A Jew is referring to a person from the nation of Israel. Judaism is the lifestyle or the spiritual beliefs of the people who came from the nation of Judah, or Judea. Back in the days when Jesus was upon the earth, the nation of Israel was divided into the two countries of Judea and Galilee.

The Jews, or Israelites are supposed to be from one of the 12 tribes of Israel and are therefor God's chosen people. They are God's chosen people even though they don't believe Jesus was the Messiah. It wouldn't be the first time they were wrong.
