It depends on a lot of factors, including your condition, your physical build, your training, your goals, as well as course difficulty, course conditions, and weather.
One x-c course I raced on in High School was particularly difficult, with two long uphill climbs, a patch of gravel right after a short up-down hill, and a half-mile of soft dusty horse track. The course record for a long time was rather slow for x-c times (until one out-of-state racer shattered it at an invitational). Other courses were less difficult, and had faster times.
As a 13-year old, I ran a 6-minute mile without breaking a sweat (no one was fast enough for me to have to push myself faster). At 16 or 17, my fastest unofficial time was about 4:45, maybe 4:50, I don't remember now.
As for not getting slower, talk to your coach and follow a training schedule so you peak at the end of the season instead of in the middle or worse yet, at the beginning of the season. I was in an accident the summer before my junior year, and got back on my training program as soon as I was physically able, and went to region and state that year, and was faster still the next year. It is definitely possible to recover from injury and do well, so keep up the hard work. Especially if you're a talented runner, keep up the hard work, and you'll be that much faster!

JerryJ is powerful on the money as properly-known. the 1st technology (2001-2003) batteries confirmed an improve in failure fee around 200K miles yet a reasonable wager for the 2004 and later batteries is around 300k-400K miles, probably around 20 years. unlike lead-acid and lithium batteries the NiMH batteries used interior the Toyota hybrid gadget have not got any limiting element on their lives. My 2002 Prius has 163K miles and shows no indications of battery weak point. If/while it fails i'm going to replace it myself with a sparkling one (approximately $1700). The Prius has no transmission interior the classic experience (that's noted as an digital CVT). you may think of of the battery as being corresponding to the threat an computerized transmission ought to fail - comparable value - however the Prius battery is lots greater stable than any computerized transmission i comprehend of. ordinary maintenance value is related to the comparable as maximum different automobiles. No timing belts to alter, the two. we've 2 2002 Prius interior the kinfolk. We purely did our 2d fix previous wiper blades, tires and cracked windshields - her vehicle mandatory a 12 volt battery in the previous this twelve months and it mandatory shocks and struts a pair months in the past. At 130K miles it became into due. we've on no account had automobiles everywhere close to as stable as those.

When my husband was a Senior in HS he ran a 4:19 mile. He now is in his early 30's and runs marathons and still loves it!
I think if you can hit anything under 5:00 you are doing awesome! Keep up the good work.

a good time would be about 5:10
a great time would be 5:00 or under
you want to shave about 10sec a year off your mile until you reach 4:40 then about 5 sec a year.
But this really just depends on how hard your work, how dedicated you are and your ability to run. Age doesnt classify a time
