..appear to take GREAT pleasure in the fact that Atheists will burn in hell for eternity...

I'm an Atheist, and obviously I dont think Im going to burn in hell.

My point is, it's not a very "Christian" attitude is it.

"you all gonna buuuuurnn, nah nah na nar nar, cus we worship nar nar and youoooo dont ner ner, burn in helll ner ner ner ner "

I see this attitude endlessly on here, would "God" think you "good Christians" for taking pleasure in the fact that someone is going to suffer intolerable pain for eternity? Simply because he didnt do a very good of convincing most of the world that Christ was his son....

Your thoughts?

Mr comment about "ner ner burn in hell..." is quite obviously mocking the attitude that I do see on here. Yes not ALL christians take that attitude, but plenty do,

I had a "CHRISTIAN" threaten to "knock the teeth out of my skull" just yesterday because he didnt like my question.

CARTWRIGHT... : Firstly im not "bragging", secondly even if I was why would that mean people would think I was "real bad", dont you mean Christians would think I was "real bad"....

HALCYON : Its not a generalisation, it is a comment that can be aimed at many, and seeing as it's a fundamental of Christian belief that non-believers will burn in hell (yes it is)..then I think it would be fair for me to make a generalisation.

Are you telling me that Christians DONT believe non-christians will burn in hell - dont lie! - you know you do, it states it in the old testament..so....

A sign on a church near me said "For eternity - will you be in smoking or non-smoking."

Hysterical. It's like making a joke about "During the holocaust Jews made ashes of themselves." Horrific stuff and NOT funny. Either the people who take pleasure in others going to hell have no humanity or they don't really believe in it in the first place.

I think a majority of these questions have not read the entire bible. It's very important to follow Jesus' example but we are all imperfect. We are to love our neighbors as we love ourselves. As a Christian, I've been through a lot of soul searching and have come learned that God is a merciful God. He is very forgiving. But the only thing He does not forgive is denying the Holy Spirit. That means that if someone were in a burning house and something inside you told you to go in there and save that person and you DIDN'T, that would be denying the Holy Spirit.

Another example is if a homosexual KNOWS that it is wrong to have premarital sex with the same sex and does it anyway, that is denying the Holy Spirit.

But even if until you're on your death bed and you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and admit that you are a sinner, Only then will you be able to enter the gates of Heaven.

For those people who know nothing about Jesus, they will be turned into dust as if their life never existed. Why do you think there are so many missionaries out there trying to get the Good News out about Jesus' VICTORY over death?

There is so much wisdom in the Bible that you or even the smartest person that ever lived can comprehend without God's help.

If everyone read the Bible and really tried to understand it according to their capacities, the world would be a better place.

Hey, I am sorry that Christians are bashing you. We are to correct people out of love, not Bible thump them. It is not a Christ-like attitude, you are right.

If Jesus were to come to this earth right now, would you even believe then? Most people wouldn't. Infact, I think we would be suprised how many people would still laugh in our faces. They would all want more signs and wonders just like they did before, and then when they had had their fill, walk away as if nothing happened.
People are not saved by seeing signs and wonders, but by the hearing of the Word. If people will not listen to the Word now, how much more would they listen to it if Jesus came back? The Bible says that even in the end times people will turn their backs on Christ...

God could have made us all believe in His Son on the spot, but instead He gave us free will. We all have a choice between heaven or hell.

Ecclesiastes 3:11b " ...Also He has put eternity in their hearts..."

You may say that the word "eternity" doesn't effect you. But God has put the issue of eternity on every persons heart. Not only that but you are made in His image, "Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness;....""

Well, as I Christian, the one thing that I have a problem with was the fact that religion must a be a "group thing". I like the religion, I believe in the Lord, and I don't agree with you in any way. But you have a point.

I can tell you are mad at SOME Christians for being "You will burn in hell!" and "YOU GOTSTA BELIEVE!!". I can't help that. But believe you me, not all Christians are like that.... and although I recognize your attitude; I ask of you to not be so cynical.

Sure... some make mistakes, but I beg of you not to be "Christians are so hypocritical". Sure, it may abide by some, but you will find that some or most of those people are actually thinking that they are helping you. I share the belief as them, but its true. They think they are helping you. Don't get too angry about it because its not worth the trouble.

I won't annoy you about your attitude or belief, you won't annoy me about MY belief or attitude.

Fair trade =D?

You have a point and I recognize that. Don't judge a book by its cover, and I might return the favor.

when it comes to religion most people can only see in black and white and don't believe that anyone that believes anything but what they believe are right. I don't think that God would take to kindly to the "your gonna burn in hell na na na" attitude, but I guess that is something that they will learn about when their time comes to atone for their sins. Really if you don't believe in God at all, I wouldn't think that their less than Christian attitude would bother you, except as a way to point out their flaws. Really irritate them by being the bigger "christian" and turn the other cheek. I think being out "Christianed" by a atheist would really boil their buns.

First of all, no Christian should taunt anyone, especially their fellow man about going to hell. Their emphasis should be to show love and kindness towards their fellow man. A Christian is supposed to be Christlike. Christ showed that everyone is worthy of love and forgiveness. If you choose to be an Atheist...be one. God gives you the choice. I realize that some people will be what they want to be, but it should not stop any Christian from still caring deeply for you as a person worthy of love. Please do not lump all people together in any belief. Some people do not really get it what Christ was all about. Either you seek to give yourself a chance to make up your own mind to receive him or not. Please do not be turned off by those who are offending you. If we only tolerate those who are like us, we miss the boat completely.

It isn't God's JOB to convince you of anything. I personally don't care what you believe. I know what is right for me, you believe or don't believe whatever you want. And besides all that Christian's didn't Decide that atheists are going to burn in hell it's just a fact. If you read the Bible you will figure that out, we have free will so we can make our own mistakes. And of course you don't think you are going to burn in hell, why would you think that? If your life has no meaning why would you put any faith in a Christian belief? Also, I have a question. Why do atheists spend so much time trying to understand what and why Christians believe in what they believe in? Is it because they are questioning their lack of faith? Something to think about.

As a Christian myself, I do notice that many Christians on this site take their comments and "zeal" a little too far at times, and can be rude, condescending and downright nasty. These attitudes are NOT characteristic of "true" Christianity. God has given you free will, and you have a choice to believe in him or not. If you are comfortable and secure in your decision, and there is nothing that anyone can say that will sway you in your convictions,so be it.

The idea of a God of love causing you to burn in hell for eternity is unscriptural and not going to happen.

And those who seem to bask in the thought of your burning in hell are not following Jesus' words to his followers regarding people who refused to listen to their message. Matthew 10:14-Wherever anyone does not take YOU in or listen to YOUR words, on going out of that house or that city shake the dust off YOUR feet.

It is not for a Christian to judge, lest we be judged ourselves.

17. JUDGMENT

The time of one’s judgment is the time of his opportunity for salvation, extending from one’s calling by God until his death (or the resurrection at Christ’s return). Those who shall qualify for God’s Kingdom—the overwhelming majority—shall inherit eternal life, and those who deliberately reject God’s way shall be consumed in the lake of fire.

Matthew 13:49–50; 25:34; 1 Peter 4:17; Revelation 20:15; 21:8

SIN

Sin is the transgression of God’s law—the falling short or missing the mark of the character of Jesus Christ. Although the penalty for sin is death in the lake of fire, all sin can be completely forgiven by God, who desires that all men be saved. (The unpardonable sin is a sin for which the sinner asks no pardon.) God forgives sin upon repentance of the individual who accepts the shed blood and sacrifice of Jesus Christ as payment in full for the penalty of his sins.

Romans 6:23; Ephesians 4:32; Colossians 1:14; 1 John 3:4

MAN’S SPIRITUAL RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD

Man’s spiritual relationship with God begins with repentance and faith. When these criteria are met, God “begets” us with His Spirit; He becomes our Father and we become His children. A family relationship has begun. To maintain this family relationship, a bond is formed as we fellowship with each other, and with God the Father and Jesus Christ. Communication as we fellowship is the tool that builds this family relationship. The tool of communication with God is nourished through four basic components: prayer, Bible study, meditation, and fasting. As we use the tool of communication, a warm personal relationship is established that gives us peace of mind, spiritual confidence, and faith that comes from knowing the Designer, Sustainer, and Ruler of the entire universe.

Matthew 6:5–13; Acts 2:38; Romans 8:15–16; 1 Timothy 2:15; 3:16; Hebrews 1:1–2, 24–25; 1 John 1:3; Daniel 6:10

Not all Christians believe that. I think everyone should respect others' beliefs. I'm a Christian, and I have close friends who are Atheists, and we freely discuss our beliefs without arguement. We're open-minded and listen even if we may disagree. The fact is, there is no evidence to prove anyone's right or wrong. We don't know if there REALLY is a heaven and a hell. We just find comfort in that belief. Basically, you should be free to believe what you want without being taunted or put down. If people tell you that you're going to hell because you don't believe, ignore it. Don't let it get to you. Everyone should be entitled to their own opinion. If thy're don't respect yours, that shows something about their character.

Talk about the Biblical illiterate like this question. We are warning people about the second death not some fallacy taught by men. The second death is non-existence. Flesh death is only a shadow of the second death. The second death is eternal, plus no memory of you, like you never existed.

IS THIS WHAT YOU WANT ???

Then there are shallow people who say they would be bored living forever. Have you never read?

1Co 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

We have no concept what eternal life will be like. God has prepared something for us beyond our imagination. Can't you open your eyes and look around at some of God's creation, plus imagine no evil or all things that offend being removed.

Are you really that shallow?
