i agree. if you can openly interpret ONE verse, you can openly interpret ALL of them.
and if HUMANS were supposed to interpret God's ideas, anyway, what's the point of stringently following a holy book?
i hate it when people will quote asnwers from their holy book, but when YOU find something in their holy book against them, they say you're using it out of context or "God didn't mean it that way".
no ifs, buts about it! its either right or its not. you cant pick and choose God's words (if that's what they really are).

There are over 200 laws and rules in the Bible. People could not remember them all much less keep them. So, God gave the "Reader's Digest" version; the "Ten Commandments", I not sure, but, I not think people can keep those either. So, Jesus made it real simple with one basically, "LOVE", Matthew 22:37-40, though many will say two; I not think we can keep the one/two.
Paul laid it out fairly clear in Romans 7:14-20. But, only a Child of God can understand according to 1 Corinthians 2:14.

Peter II 1:20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Acts 3:21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began
there are three classes in God's world:
1- Jew, Israelite
2-Gentile, heathen
3-Church, born again christian
scripture is given three ways
1-Doctrine - what does it say to whom is it saying it two (see above)
2-histrocal - history, as it happen
3- spiritual - appling it to teach, reprove, rebuke as a lesson

of course not, why should i follow the teachings of a fictional nwork of literature, espewcially when the vatican and the catholics have set them selves apart and deem themselves superior to all others and will not even allow all of the books to be translated and printed so that the book is complete and keep these books hidden and locked away from the rest of the world !and let's be real, a nice work of fiction but sole purpouse was to keep the weak minded and uneducated under their thumb and the poor in line, so that the rich and powerful and educated may prosper from the sweat and hard work of others !, the best joke on humanity by aliens or the past dictators (catholics ) that has ever been !

Find a church that doesn't have its own little rituals or rules about certain things, for STRICTLY sticking to the Bible is important. If you want a church that STICKS to what the Bible says, I would recommend, like what "Someaesthesia" said, a Non-Denominational church that is considered Christian because of their sticking to the Bible. Getting into branches is dangerous. For the most part, branches imply a 'founder' who is human - Not Jesus - which could possibly have added beliefs. I would stick to a church that refers to itself as a Non-Denominational Christian church, for I have found that it does not astray from the teachings of Jesus.

People can strive to follow ALL the teachings of the bible, since we are told that we must be "holy since God is holy". However, we are also told in the bible that we are born with sin and Romans 3:23 (I think) talks about no one is perfect, sin we are born with imperfections.
So it's best to strive for perfection and try to follow God's way and his will and in order to do that one must first come to know God personally. He invites all mankind to do so at James 4:8. We all fall short of God's glory but we can still please the Grand Creator of the Universe.

Christ is the only way to salvation. People who know nothing of the bible, such as children have accepted the Lord. These little rules will most assuredly lead to death. You accept Christ He takes you down the appropriate path.

I am a member of Christ's church, the church of Christ. We only live by the New Testament (Law of Christ, Law of Faith) only. Members of the church of Christ are Christians in name only, unlike the Baptists, Catholics, Mormons, Methodists, etc.
As Christians, we are commanded to spread the Gospel of Christ.

I do not need to read a book of a thousand pages to know that the number one rule in life is not to bring harm to others or to self.
