It appears you have an incorrect view of what hell is. Hell is not the place where God tortures a soul. Hell is a place where Satan tortures a soul. So your analogy fails here.

Additionally, souls are not in hell because God has grabbed them by the throat and thrown them there. Souls are in hell because unforgiven sin cannot coexist in the presence of God. Very much like the physical fact that two masses cannot occupy the same space at the same time. It is just not possible for that to occur. Likewise, it is just not possible for unforgiven sin to exist in the same place as God.

So the real question isn't why "why would God do such a terrible thing?" The real question is "why would any person not submit themsleves to His will knowing that that lack of submission would result in them not being able to coexist with the presence of God."

It's so easy for all of us to play the role of the victim. When something bad befalls us we immediately start looking for someone to blame, someone to sue, someone to point a finger at and say "It's their fault". But it isn't God's fault. It's our fault if we refuse to submit to His will.

E. None of the above. I'd request that the matter be looked into, and if the dog proved dangerous, request that my neighbor take care of the matter. I thought you said this was a christian test, not serial killer wanna-be test.

In the first place if I had a child I wouldn't get a pet that would be as ferrous animal that would harm a child. I have heard enough about dogs that attack.

It's also the way you treat the dog as a result. If my neighbours were abusive to the animal I would call the animal rights protection group before I would hurt the animal.

I would want to show compassion to the animal thus forgive the animal because of it's wrong doing because it simply doesn't know any better.

I would hope that any compassionate christian would think twice about torturing an animal. Two wrongs don't make it right.

No point whatsoever. The dog only acted on instinct. It does not have the power of reason. It felt threatened in some primal manner and reacted.

No reason to "torture" the dog at all. Euthanize? Maybe, in order to protect other human beings, but never torture.

Then answer, then, is E, none of the above.

I would force the neighbor to comply with the municipal laws.
The dog would be "euthenized" as someone most aptly put it.
To the letter of the law. A dog next door bit my daughter's hand, leaving a small scratch. I was surprized later on to find out that they had the dog destroyed because of it. I did not ask for it, nor did my daughter (she was 6 at the time)

I wouldn't torture the dog at all. I would just make sure that it got taken away and put to sleep properly, so that it would not have a chance to kill someone elses child.

None of the above

If the neighbour had knowledge that the dog could harm another person than "the owner" is at fault and therefore he will pay a penalty (whatever is judged upon him) and the dog will be put to death.
If he did not have knowledge the dog could harm, than the dog will be put to death.

I would put the dog to sleep and it would die so there is no torturing involved

My answer: E, never. I wouldn't torture the dog. People seem to forget that animals do not kill for sport. They do it to protect themselves and their young. An animal will only attack someone if it feels threatened by them.

Wow, excellent question :)

Um, I would pick none-of-the-above. I might euthenize the dog, due to the possibility it would kill another kid. Torturing it has no point.
