A lot of evangelical Christians -- and those claiming to be evangelicals -- gay bash and treat others like refuse even if the question has little or nothing to do with religion. And it seems like every time I ask a Catholic question, I get only answers telling me that the Catholic Church is wrong/evil/just a bunch of molesting priests, not a real answer.
I do not mean that Catholics are better than Protestants, but it does seem like we are on the whole a bit better behaved. That's a shame, too, because the whole Catholic/Protestant thing causes a lot of strife and I think distracts us from the main point, which is loving God. So, I ask everyone: please be Christlike if you're claiming to be a Christian. It's hard, but I'm working on it too, and I think it would make Y!A a lot better.
God bless.

Corezink, I appreciate your point. Calling homosexuality a sin is, indeed, not gay-bashing. I was referring to the “You’re going to hell you dirty f*g!” bashing. As a Catholic, celibate homosexual myself, I understand your point that calling homosexuality a sin is not gay-bashing. It is actually loving. It is a hard thing for many -- including myself, at one time – to accept, but homosexual acts *are* in fact sinful. Being gay isn’t, but acting on it is. God bless.

I'm glad you brought up the Catholic/Protestant thing, because I am an ex-Catholic and am now a Baptist pastor. I don't think that all Catholics molest children. I don't think that all priests molest children. But I do think that Catholics have gotten it wrong on several levels, which is why I am no longer one.
As far as the gay bashing goes, I don't believe in that, either. I think that practicing homosexuals need Jesus just as badly anyone else be they Muslim, baptist or adulterers.
I think what a lot of people think is gay bashing though, is really not. It is not gay bashing to call homosexuality a sin, it is simply preaching the Word of God. It is not adulterer bashing if we call adultery a sin, is it? It is not murderer bashing if we call murder a sin, is it? Then why is calling homosexuality a sin "gay bashing?"

Now maintain on a minute right here,.. Many instances, while the "non-Christian question" is published, they invite our opinion,... "deal with" it to "Christians". For some of the others, the questions come within the sort of a "undertaking". When Christians DO reply what are we SUPPOSED to mention/do? Rant, wield insults & cuss? Though a few might, it isn't what Christians DO. We'll consistently gift our ideals while challenged by way of non-believers. Sure it may be visible as an Evengelistic jab, however we aren't going to get right into a heated debate. We siimply default to Truth. Why do non-believers get so bent out of form once we talk of our religion besides? I've questioned why the articles of our religion are so "offensive" and "objectionable" to non-believers. They end up particularly uncomfortable at any point out of Christ, His Death, Burial and Ressurection. The blood atonement for our sins. Could this powerful response be borne out of a few "conviction" of their center?,.. probably on account that there simply could also be whatever to this gospell factor of which we talk? Y'see,.. there we cross once more,.. You simply HAD to invite did not you?? : )

I'm not sure what your question is but if it is about homosexuals or as you say, gay bashing by Christians, this is certainly not Biblical. The Bible says this act is an abomination. It never says we are to hate homosexuals and as a matter of fact, Jesus tells us just the opposite. We are not to hate anyone. The homosexuals must deal with God Almighty in respect to their acts. We are not to hate and bash Homosexuals. Anyone who says differently is not Christian. Period and end of story...

To many it seems that Christian are always bashing other believes but what they fail to understand and comprehend is that we are simply telling them the truth about sin and the end results. Others don't appreciate the fact that we are telling them the truth about God, Jesus and the plan of salvation.

That is why I don't answer a lot of questions here because
1. I am not very informed on the subject
or 2. is it worth it to give my opinion on something that I disagree with anyways
some things I will give my opinion for but for the meantime I leave certain questions alone

Good point! There is allot of hate filled speech on "religion& Spirituality" on both sides.
I mean the Christians would do good by ignoring the terrible stuff people say to them .... JUST LEAVE IT ALONE! And maybe then we would be more respected, but Christians sink to an athiests level, then it becomes a tug-o-war of words.
