I have a new puppy that I found that was dumped. He is about 7 weeks old now. He's eating good now. The problem is, he started scratching quite often. He doesn't have fleas or eggs. I gave him treatment for that two weeks ago. No he has scabs that are flaking off of him. His elbows and stomach have scabs from scratching & he keeps we opening the sores. I'm thinking he has some kind of Mange.
Should I take him to the Emergency Now. It's 9:00 p.m. my time.

I have a puppy that I found that was dumped. I did take him to the vet then. We was dewormed & had flea treatment. He's about 7 weeks now. Anyways, He started sctratching under the arm pits & stomach. It's now oozing from the sctratching. He has a lot of flakes & scabs. I'm thinking that he has mange. Should I take him to the ER. now. He is very restless during the night.

wait and take him in the morning, this is not a big emergency so just visit the local vet in the morning. It could be mange, but it also can be food allergies.

You might call an Emergency clinic to ask if there is something you can relieve his itching with for overnight and explain the problem. If it costs a whole lot to take him in and that is not a factor for you and they say you can take him, then do it. But otherwise I would think it would be fine to wait until morning and take him to your Vet or to a Vet for a lot cheaper. He may need to be dipped there if he has a certain kind of mange.
GL with you puppy and you are great for rescuing the little guy and taking such good care of him.

I doubt if it's life-threatening, so you could hold off till tomorrow. However, if he's in pain, you would be doing him a favor to take him in now.You obviously care a lot about him, and that makes you very special.

From a distance, it's a tough call, but I think you can wait. Good luck.

If you think it is really bad, then take him. The people here on Yahoo Answers can't see the dog's wounds, so we can't tell you yes or no (in all honesty). Otherwise, if you think he will be okay, drive him to your normal vet first thing in the morning when they open. You don't need to worry about an appointment. Just go!

No not the er vet for sure.. thats an arm and a leg. Use oatmeal bath and dermadex to bathe him. you might be OVER bathing this poor dog. Anyways whenever your regular vet is open I would take pup in!

If I were you i would bundle him up in a towel, blanket and put him in a pet carrier if not available put him in a basket and take him to the vet and tell exactly what is going on. you should probably bring his favorite toy so he feels comforted. hope the little guys alright, good luck!

You should have taken it to the vet two weeks ago. He needs to be checked, wormed and vaccinated.

Watch him for the night and try to prevent him from scratching and take him in the morning when it will not be so bad on your pocketbook. If he becomes listless take him in to emergency.
