Get into a QUIET place such as library or your room when you were doing your homework, so you could concentrate all the best...(listen to soft and slow music to ease your mind)
Do a study group. So, when you are clueless, your friends could give you a hand.
Choose friends that are really serious on studying...
Highlight points that you may need and before going to classes, always revise first the topics that you will precede on that time.
During classes, give your 100% attention to your teacher, or else she/he got mad and sent you for detention!

i cant do the long study sessions before the test because i always forget during test day. the method that honestly works for me is the procrastinating way. Once i cram everything in at the last day in the morning of the test i remember everything because its so fresh in my mind and new. it works every time. everyone has their own methods and mine is said to be the wrong way, but it honestly works for me. I work so much better when I'm under stress. in my opinion that's a terrific thing, because my strength is the weakness of the majority of the people.
I also close my eyes and ask my self " what did i just read " if i can return the data that i just read on the paper then i know it, if i cant i re-read it thoroughly until i get it. I sometimes also do lil hymns to remember certain order of things if its necessary. people have different methods that work for them, these are mine.

I read over the chapter and if there are bold words, I type them out and their definitions. Then, if there are questions at the end of every lesson of the chapter, I answer those and review them. I also write flash cards for equations and important facts/terms and review those.

For me, rote memorization works best. I just go through the list of things I need to learn and memorize it. It also helps to write, as through writing, I can internalize it better.

I take the material and read it out loud to myself to memorize. That works for me.
