it doesn't really say pray for them, it says that you should not hold a grudge against them. somewhere in the torah, i don't remember the verse.

well off the top of my head when Abraham's wife was taken by the Pharaoh of Egypt and he was punished with a plague. Abraham prayed that he would be cured when his wife was returned to him.

well... regardless of the precise passage, remember what jesus said as he was on the cross. He begged God for forgiveness on behalf of the men that nailed him to the cross. He said something to the effect of, forgive them for they know not what they do. I think it's safe to say that it'd be okay to take our queu from him.
