My best friend has asked me to be maid of honour in her wedding and I have no idea what the responsibilities include. I'm assuming I'll have to plan a shower and help her with everything. HELP! I'm totally in the dark and I have no idea where to start.

Well, you're pretty much right about help with everything. My maid of honor threw me a shower, planned my bachelorette party, and just listed to me complain about my in laws all the time. Remember to keep the train of her dress nice and pretty during the ceremony. You should also prepare a speech for the reception.

Okay, if you want to be a really kick-butt maid of honor:
- Help her address her wedding invitations
- Go with her to her dress fittings
- Help organize and keep the bridesmaids informed of what's going on
- Plan the bachorlette party
- Plan and give at least one bridal shower
- Go with her and help her make decisions for any wedding-related stuff (especially if nobody else can)
- Help her maintain her sanity (this is the biggest thing- she's going to have "moments"- all brides do)

It's actually pretty fun being the maid of honor. Get with her mom and her fiance's mom, also, and maintain communication with them.

you have to do just about everything. And you pay for most of it. You help with the wedding, shower, engaement party, bachloertte party, Anything that the bride whats you to do. You have to help her purchase a dress, you have to help out the day of the wedding. It is a big job, and I would never do it again. Maybe your girlfriend will not be so needy. Good luck.

Plan the shower with her family.
Wedding speech & toast to the bride.
Make sure she looks good in all her photos.
Those are a few things.

You are her version of the Wingman. You make sure that nothing and no one ruins her special day. You are basically her bodyguard.

Try this book: The Everything Bridesmaid Book.

Also, www.theknot.com will have tips.

Good luck!
