God is the one that created that 'energy.' When we die our bodies, which are just shells will stay in the ground and decay and our souls will either go to heaven or hell.

After I read the book, The history of nearly everything, I began thinking along those same lines. A single cell in the body has the energy of an atom bomb. When we die, where does that life force go? It can't just evaporate. It is an energy force. I was also watching a show a few months back.
They were doing a study on a woman that had donated her body for scientific study, when she passed away. They were studying the brain. Some scientists, now think that the brain can live up to a week, after death. (They monitered activity in the womens brain for about a week). Think of what this could mean.
Doctors were discussing, that if it is proven, that the brain lives on after death, that people might want to reconsider, the way thier bodies are treated after death. They were also discussing how the Egyptians would "scramble" the brains, then suck them out through the nose, before embalming. This would have prevented them from taking the final journey.(This would be like a dark sentence from God, on the evil Egyptian priesthood don't you think?) So I think it does make a difference how we live our lives. I think it was Paul who said: If there is a pysical body, there is also a spiritual body.
The spiritual body must be that life force, which must go somewhere after death. And maybe the brain takes you on to that final journey, where you will either, realize your ultimate joy, or your ultimate hell. It all depends on how you live your life.

study quantum physics - it says that there cannot be a universe without consciousness entering to it - Penrose has a good definition of consciousness --- I believe that consciouseness is the most fundamental form of being (even god is subject to this - even if god's true nature is nonexistence; god would have to have the awareness of a nonexistent self - and when you exahaust all other possibilities, this is the only conclusion). So, there can be no end to consciousness, nor can it have a beginning - it is the playground of any possible, and impossible state of being.

Your consciousness is the result of electrical neurons firing in your brain. When you die, your brain ceases to function and eventually decomposes with the rest of your body. All of your body's energy is dissipated to it's surroundings through heat loss.

Why does it scare you that we cease to exist? And yes, cease to exist applies to your consciousness too. That energy disipates in the form of heat and becomes a part of all other energy.

Well if we cease to exist, then i guess that the energy will be lost and go "Poof"
But i seriously believe that the energy (your consciousness) will flout around where ever you see fit.

So where exactly was your energy before you born? Exactly. You came into existence when you were born and you'll go out of it when you die.

Why do you assume that consciousness is energy? I have never heard of any energy measured that is consciousness. If you can't measure it, it ain't there.

Your conciousness is your mind (brain). When you die it dies. That's it.
