you are standing on the shore of a lake and 50 yards out there is a stranger drowning a distance away from him is your favorite pet (pretend you have one if you dont) also drowning. You can only save one.

I'd have to pick the stranger every time. ANd yes I have a pet that is closer to me than my own sisters.

But I know that in 5 years I couldn't live with myself if I made any other decision.

Ha ha that's strange I was just thinking a similar thing this morning on my way to school..& since I already made up my mind & thought a lot about it this morning, my answer is this : People are always more important then animals, even much beloved pets = D & besides that's the way my pet would want it! = )

This choice would rip me apart, but my cat is 19 years old, I adopted him when he was eleven. I love him very much, but he doesn't have much time left on this earth. The human has much more time to touch lives, to make the world a better place. I would choose the human stranger...

Since my favorite pet is a dog and can swim, I choose the stranger:)

lol. Well, since my pet would never go near water unless forced (cats dont like water) so that would never happen, I'd say the stranger.

You should always save a human life over an animal. That is just the humane thing to do.

My friend. Dog and cats do not go to heaven. People have a choice and maybe my friend hasn't made his choice. This way God though me could give him more time.
