An album by Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. Actually, their best, in my opinion. I mean, it has Carry On, Teach Your Children, Helpless, Woodstock, Our House, and 4+20 on it. Definitely a must listen.

Déjà vu is French for "already seen." Déjà vu is an uncanny feeling or illusion of having already seen or experienced something that is being experienced for the first time. If we assume that the experience is actually of a remembered event, then déjà vu probably occurs because an original experience was neither fully attended to nor elaborately encoded in memory. If so, then it would seem most likely that the present situation triggers the recollection of a fragment from one's past. The experience may seem uncanny if the memory is so fragmented that no strong connections can be made between the fragment and other memories.

The conscious mind perceives all events by reference to short and long term memory.

Here's an idea. Your conscious mind perceives an event and the event is recorded in short term memory. During the event (even for a fraction of a second) your conscious mind jumps out of the situation and starts thinking about cups of tea or something. While this is going on the event is still being pushed into short term memory - even though you are not consciously aware of it.

Suddenly your conscious mind jumps back into the situation and is very surprised to find a memory of this event - even though you have no perceptive recollection of it.

This would give the impression of having done or seen this exact event before even though it may have been impossible.... et voila! deja vu.

I knew you were going to ask that.

It is the feeling that you have seen or experienced something before, but you don't know where. For example, if you have a prophetic dream but don't remember the dream, then when it comes true, you will have this feeling of deja vu. If you remember the dream, then when it comes true you will have a memory.

the word " deja vu" means having seen before. It refers to that feeling of instant recognition of having seen or done something already.

Now, my friend told me this one. I got chills after she said it. She is a Christian and when she prayed about deja vu, she said it means that God wants to tell you that he knows what you are going to do before you do it, and, he is "showing" you that he knows! Cool, huh? Well, maybe not to some, but. If you need reassuring, that could do it.

Now that's just...curious...I could swear I answered this question just a moment ago...or did I?

That's what deja vu is all about.

The feeling of "familiarity". You know, youre doing something and you suddenly get the feeling that you've done this before even if you haven't. That kind of thing.
