Quran 8:67 PICKTHAL: It is not for any prophet to have captives until he hath made slaughter in the land. Ye desire the lure of this world and Allah desireth (for you) the Hereafter, and Allah is Mighty, Wise. http://cwis.usc.edu/dept/MSA/quran/008.qmt.html

This chapter in the Quran is titled "Spoils or War / Booty". Why Allah would want to write about such a subject, I dont know, but the focuse here is verse 67 right at the begining where it says "its is not for ANY PROPHET to have...".

Islam claims Muhammad is the last Prophet. Allah will give us no more final prophets, even though he keeps giving us final prophets. According to Islam, this is finally it, Muhammad is the final of the final.

BUT WAIT, right here in the final prophets final book, it says "It is not for ANY PROPHET to have captives"? WHAT PROPHETS? I THOUGHT MUHAMMAD WAS THE LAST ONE, SO THE FINAL BOOK NEED NOT ADDRESS ANY FUTURE PROPHETS, AS THE QURAN DOES HERE!!!!!

You are trying to make sense out of that religon.
Did you really read that first sentence?
Until he hath made slaughter. What are humans? Something to kill for sport. They go from shooting deer, elk to let's see I think I want to slaughter a man today.

Yet another feeble attempt gone in vain. First of all this is an English translation, if you look at Yousuf Ali's translation he translated as "It is not fitting for a prophet.." and not as "any prophet". But anyways still that does not make a difference because 'any prophet' or 'not fitting for a prophet' does NOT imply that there would be more prophets. Your English does not seem to be so poor, is this the hatred in you speaking?

surah 8 speaks of the battle of Badr.>> go read a history book.

{Commentary}
8:67
The following was revealed when they ransomed those taken captive at Badr: It is not for any Prophet to have (read as an takūna lahu or an yakūna lahu) prisoners until he has made slaughter in the land, going all the way in fighting disbelievers. You, O believers, desire the transient things of this world, its ephemeral gains, by ransoming, while God desires, for you, the Hereafter, that is, its reward, through your killing them; and God is Mighty, Wise: this was abrogated by His words [and set them free] afterward either with grace or by ransom [Q. 47:4].

i dont see how this verse "implies" that there are prophets after Muhammad (pbuh).

Because people like you who are not the sharpest knife in the draw are invited to look at the example of the previous Prophets. Despite this people like you continue to insult the Prophet Muhammad for things most of the previous Prophets did...sigh

Because the Quran is like the Bible, full of contradictions, but unlike the Bible the Quran is constantly revised and updated by the so called Clerics, who are unoriginal by doing what the Catholic church did, looking for power, wealth, population control by fear, and world domination of other faiths.

I'm telling you this not to put you down, but to be truthful, you don't put forth threatning thought provoking questions. And its kinda ridiculous. I mean how many times do I have to teach you your ABCs, if you don't know those you can't form words and put forth paragraphs. You on an ABC level. I know its hard for you to understand, but you're making yourself look very ignorant, its not even funny anymore. Why should I teach you if your aim is not to learn, but to be ignorant? Why should I feed you when you don't want to eat, but throw up and feed me with it. I'd rather feed someone who is hungry and wants to eat.

Perhaps there were other prophets "before" Muhammad, to be compared too.
