I smoke Marlboro Reds because I like the taste of the tobacco. I have smoked for many years and it has had very little effect on my health. Sure, maybe once a year I may go through a few days when I hack up some nasty stuff, but besides that I'm still able to be physically active without coughing up a lung or anything. The real reason so many smokers get sick is b/c they don't eat right, no one does anymore. Eat your fruits & veggies everyday and you will literally become invinsible. We are all at equal risk of getting lung cancer b/c of all the depleted uranium up in the atmosphere from the bombs in Iraq, so I'm not at all worried about a little cigarette. By the way, has anyone noticed that all the people in the record books for living to be 120 or whatever smoked the majority of their lives'?

Salem lights for 6 years, then to Marlboro light menthol 100's in a box. When I can't ask for them without taking a breath, I will quit. We smokers are a "dying" breed, for lack of a better term.
Most of my family smoked and our average life span for women is 95.5 and the males is 91.3. Almost all from natural causes. No rhyme or reason, just a fact.
I love it when Marlboro Red smokers turn down a menthol. Hey, saves me a quarter!
I have had people who smoke but don't inhale give me $1 to $2 for a smoke. What's the point? One older guy at a bar asked me for a smoke, then another, and then 3 more the rest of the night. We were having an interesting conversation so it didn't bother me. By the time he was getting ready to leave, he said to the bartender "his tab is on me". I was floored! My tab was almost $60! That's $12 a smoke! I asked "Are you sure?" and his reply was "I would rather pay your tab than forget to get rid of the pack of cigarettes and listen to my wife complain for the next year!"
Isn't funny when you run into someone who smoke the exact same cigarette? I don't care, but they are so elated and feel this "bond".

When I did smoke it was marb greens (menthol). I tried Newports, and didn't like them. However, if you don't understand now why you should quit smoking, I really hope you do soon. You have most likely already done permanent damage to your body, and you will have to live with the results of that damage for the rest of your life. I know because I am doing so. You say you "weren't born yesterday", but by that you are really saying that even though you knew before you started smoking you knew the dangers and did it anyway. Does that mean that you are stupid and didn't understand the danger, or arrogant and you thought it would only happen to someone else? Older people might have the excuse that before they got addicted they didn't understand the danger, but if you only started 4 years ago, you don't have that excuse. One thing that bugs me a whole lot more than someone who is an idiot is someone who is an idiot and arrogant about it like that makes it OK. Even if you quit now you will most likely deal with minor health consequences for the rest of your life, but the longer you smoke the worse they will get, and the earlier in your life you will start getting sick and miserable. Get a clue.

I smoke Benson & Hedges Ultra Light menthol and it's the only kind I like (and hate at the same time). I hate the habit! My brother-in-law smokes Newports and I've smoked his before and they make me dizzy and I've been smoking for a long time. I know you hate it when people tell you not to smoke, we all know the hazards, which we didn't when I started. You sound like a beautiful young women, and it is a deadly, disgusting, ugly, frowned upon habit. Please quit smoking before you get to a point that you are so addicted it's almost impossible. Take care and be well. Be prepared, you're probably gonna take alot of negative hits on this question!

I don't smoke, mainly because I've already got asthma, don't want it to be worse. I want to be as healthy as I can.
Anyway, some of my family smokes. My mom, paternal grandfather, and both my maternal grandparents smoke. I lived in an apartment with my mom, dad, sister, and both my paternal grandparents. My grandpa would go to the balcony and take a cig. I'd watch him sometimes. And every Sunday, I went to my maternal grandparent's house and they'd smoke. My eyes always got red and irritated when I was over at their house. But now, both my maternal grandparents cut down on their smoking and my grandpa quit smoking altogether.

I prefer John players special (the black and gold package), they are strong and I've been smoking them since I was a teen. I grew up with smokers and tokers in my family and this was normal for me to see smokers...seeing someone NOT smoking was strange.
Besides....what else goes better with beer?
