I recently found two butter knives, which seemed to be burned on both sides of it. And a broken beer bottle.

Now, mind you, I am a little out of touch with the more recent drugs around, but back in my day (late 70's, early 80's), burnt knives only meant one thing. Hash.
Things could be different now, don't really know, but that would be my guess.
Oh, and probably alcohol.

Are you jumping to a wrong conclusion? It doesn't seem like you have very much evidence with what you listed. Where did you find the knives and broken beer bottle?
What other things, have you found or seen, that point to "drugs....anything"?
How is his attitude? How is his grades? How is his personality? How old is he? Does he lay out at night? Does he come straight home after school or work?
Think about it. DO NOT accuse him of something he isn't doing. It just might cause him to start. Just watch him, show up at unsuspected times and places. Who is he associating with? Do you ever smell anything on him. You can smell pot across the room. The other stuff is harder to detect. You need a LOT more evidence before it will prove ANYTHING. Good luck. Pops

I'm not sure what the knives are for and that scares me more than knowing. I would imagine its some bad crap if he's smoking it like that. The only drugs I know about grow naturally! I say get involved even if he doesn't want you to. The last thing you want is a junkie for a son!

My guess would be meth or crack. I would also think you should really do something more than post a question about it here. If he's a minor, have a blood test run to test for abused substances. Then, be sure to get some helpf for him and some education/help for you, too, so you know who to cope with challenges down the road with the problem. Sorry for your situation, but I hope you can stop things before they get worse.

I think the broken beer bottle is just a broken beer bottle. (Probably drank the beer.) He's using the knives to smoke meth.

Well think about what is the most available, common, and cheapest drug's out there.... Crystal Meth. But don't jump to conclusions... you'd have to notice many days of not sleeping to when he comes down all he does is sleep. Check this site out

it is called hot knife and you use it to smoke hash
you put the knives on a stove burner or such thing
put the hash on the knife and smoke the burning hash

Sounds to me like he's burning something. That could be speed.
Rather than focusing on what kind of drugs he may be using, how is his behavior? Is he in school? How are his grades?

There are over the counter drug test call your local Walmart to find out what all they test for or your local health department.Good Luck and I hope it turns out he is not doing drugs at all.God Bless~

you heat the dope up on the knives and draw the smoke through the bottle neck.
